10cc Album: “...Meanwhile [Bonus Tracks]”

MEANWHILE,,,,a really good 10CC cd. I had to find this CD in Sydney Australia. It's a shame that it was never realeased here in the U.S.A.

It reunites all 4 original members,,,Lol Creme was living here in The HOLLYWOOD Hills & came down at his brother in laws request to sing backing vocals (with a killer Lead vocal by Kevin Godley on "The Stars didn't show" a song about the late singer Roy Orbison)

Look, This CD is a gem, It has Paul McCartney the whole ORIGINAL 10cc & Andrew Gold of WAX/UK on it. It was not the best producer in Gary Katz. I wish Jeff Lynne was around for this or David Gilmore too produce as the production was just wrong! Still if you like or love 10cc, ELO. Badfinger & The BEATLES!!! then buy this little gem. I did & still enjoy it.

Yes, there is a reunion of all sorts, of all four members, but besides Kevin singing one lead vocal on 'The stars didn't show', (good song), the contribution of Kevin and Lol is minimal, merely a couple of backing vocals. Graham also gets very little mention here, and sings no lead vocals at all on the album.

The tracks are all very similar with a mid-tempo sound and similar textures and arrangements. The last track 'don't break the promises' is gorgeous, as is 'Woman in love', a very catchy song that sticks in the mind. The rest is forgettable and some extremely poor, such as 'fill her up'. Nice to have in your collection, but only if you are an avid collector.

I could listen to 10 cc pretty much all day long. They are truly great/talented. This CD did not disappoint. If I could wave a magic wand and have one band get back together it would be a tough decision between them and the Beatles. OKAY maybe not that tough but...

...Meanwhile being 10 cc's 10th studio album is nothing more then generic rock and the lyrics sound like so many other radio friendly rock albums. Allmusic gave 2.5/5 which I think is a tad low but more then a 3 would be to high. 3/5.
