ABBA: Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Anni Frid Lyngstad, Agnetha Faltskog.

Recorded live on tour of Australia in 1977; Wembley Arena, Wembley, England in 1979; the DICK CAVETT MEETS ABBA TV show in 1981.

Digitally remastered by Jon Astley & Tim Young.

Featuring 13 classic ABBA hits recorded at London's Wembley Arena in 1979 and two more ("Fernando," "Money Money Money") from the 1977 Australian tour documented in ABBA: The Movie, ABBA LIVE was released in 1986, five years after the Swedish supergroup's breakup. Given the time frame, the track listing is top-heavy with mid-period (1976-'79) classics, with only 1974's "Waterloo" dating from the group's early bubblegum years.

The most obscure songs included here are the relatively small hits "On and On and On" and "Two for the Price of One" and Bjorn's vocal spotlight "Does Your Mother Know?" Arrangements and vocals stay close to the studio versions but avoid the pitfall of exact replication. The crowds are wildly enthusiastic but not intrusive. The nicely designed package includes many excellent late-'70s photos of the group.

- A MUST HAVE for TRUE ABBA fans!!
Before I bought this CD I read a review saying that this Album sounded too crisp and "prerehearsed" to be considered a live album. Being a true fan, I still bought this CD and I tell you I don't regret it. Yes, the recordings are crisp and clear, but that is the beauty of the Album. The crowd noise can still be heard in the backgroud, but does not take away from the beautiful vocals which made this group famous. You can almost see the smiles on the singers faces just by listening to the joy they express in their songs. My favorite "Take a Chance on Me" is a joy to listen to live. Alas I am too young to have ever experienced AbbA in person myself, this album allows me to share what so many others were able to in the late 70's. 4 out of 5 stars only because it left me wanting more.

- ABBA ROCKS !!!
You want to hear ABBA live because they actually sound like them. Between the orginal recording and their live music; the live sounds way better. Its worth the money you spend.

- For fans only
Being a true ABBA fan I have this CD. It is good to have the chance to hear different versions of their songs and to be able to get a taste of how they sounded live. They are good but like most other acts their studio recordings are far superior.

- Consider ABBA In Concert DVD
I only have the original release of ABBA Live on CD and can't say what
might be different in the current remaster. However, I do recommend
that prospective buyers also consider the ABBA In Concert DVD, which
has much of the same music but with video too.
