- Abba's most protean album.

'Voulez Vous' rarely ranks highly with the late Abba masterpieces. Maybe its versatility militates against the tonal unity that makes an album like 'The Visitors' such an overpowering experience. And yet, this album features the lyrics that define the glitter/tears Abba aesthetic: 'I have a dream, a fantasy, to help me cope with reality'.

It is difficult to think of any reputedly Great album that boasts such a run of miraculous songs - the euphoric funk of 'As Good as new'; the love-as-crime-thriller paranoia of the title track; the death-wish masquerading as life affirmation of 'I have a dream'; 'the king has lost his crown', the kind of up-tempo ballad Abba patented; the saucy boogie of 'Does your mother know'; the Bee Gees melancholy of 'If it wasn't for the nights'; the 'Fernando' rehash 'Chiquitita', with its haunting, rag-stomp finale; the electro hysteria of 'Lovers (live a little longer). The catchy rapture of 'Kisses of fire' brings the album to a satisfying, full-circle close.

Even the bonus tracks, which on an album like 'the Visitors' blight the overall mood, are invaluable, the Michael Nyman echoes (or vice versa?) of 'Summer Night City', and the Bowie pastiche, 'Lovelight'. Remarkable.

- Voulez-Vous? SURE!!

I consider this album to be the group's highest point of all of the original studio albums. The completely infectious melody of "KISSES OF FIRE" and the effortless polished glamour of "IF IT WASN'T FOR THE NIGHTS", it is very easy to see that on this disc ABBA has outdone themselves. As a teenager, I find ABBA to be the perfect alternative to "Britney Spears" and all of the Boy Bands. ABBA proves that at one time, artists could actually sing! This album is a direct variation of it's predecessors "Arrival, and The Album". It simply verged on spotting them as having a more trendy attitude. One listen to "LOVERS LIVE A LITTLE LONGER" or "AS GOOD AS NEW" and you'll be dancing all night! Two thumbs up to this polished, glittering dico jewel that will always be in your head! BEST TRACKS: Kisses of Fire, Lovers Live A Little Longer, If It Wasn't For The Nights, As Good As New

- Their Slickest

Embraced the disco phenomenon with fantastic results. As Good As New, the title track, Angel Eyes, Does Your Mother Know, are all great tracks. Highly recommended.

- GREAT!

This is ABBA's major addition to the disco madness of the late 1970's. In addition some of their best songs came from this album. Songs such as VOLEZ VOUS , IF IT WASN'T FOR THE NIGHTS , AS GOOD AS NEW and THE KING HAS LOST HIS CROWN are four perfect examples of ABBA disco but some of the lyrics in this album are terribly childish and are not the best effort bjorn or benny acheived. Songs like DOES YOUR MOTHER KNOW , and LOVERS are two such examples but in any case they make it up with great music so as to turn mediocre lyrics into an enjoyable song. Great album and a great effort

- ABBA makes my blood pump. Voulez Vous? Definitely!

I love this album very much. I remember coming home from work one night only to find that a very loud party was currently in progress. My Cerwin Vegas were really pumping out "I have a dream" and "Chiqitita" which was fine with me. ABBA was the best. Get this CD now. From AMAZON.COM of course!!
