Imperial Teen - The Hair the TV the Baby and the Band Artist: Imperial Teen Review: So about that title. Hair: Jone Stebbins tours with her styling scissors. TV: Roddy Bottum scored the defunct ABC series Help Me Help You. Baby: Lynn Truell, nee Perko, is pregnant in her booklet photo. Which leaves Will Schwartz as the band, still harboring dreams that these veteran art-pop up-and-comers will someday be remunerative as well as catchy. Catchy they remain on their belated fourth album -- also bright, dynamic, tender, brainy, unpretentious and civilly pansexual. But after... Rating: 3.5 Stars

Wolfmother’s Stockdale Returns With New BandmembersPhoto: Wood/Getty Five months after jettisoning his band’s drummer and bassist, Wolfmother’s lone remaining member Andrew Stockdale made his return to the stage with three new additions backing him. Performing under the temporary band name White Feather, Stockdale and his new Wolfmother played a pair of shows this weekend, one at the Valley Studios in Brisbane and the other at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory, according to ABC.au. The band’s sets included hits from Wolfmother’s only album (their 2005 self-titled debut) including “Woman” and “Joker & The Thief,” as well as a batch of new material. In August 2008 drummer Myles Haskett and bassist Chris Ross left Wolfmother, citing personal and musical differences with Stockdale, who kept control of the Wolfmother moniker. Ross and Haskett have since focused on their side project, reportedly called Doom Buggy. “A few things have happened,” Stockdale told the Sydney crowd this weekend. “I have got to say it’s so great just to be able to play some music and share the music — do what we know, do what we love.” The reconfigured Wolfmother will next play a gig on March 22nd at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. Wolfmother’s spokeswoman said this weekend’s shows were essentially warm-up gigs for the new lineup before the Clipsal show, which would be a Wolfmother and not a White Feather concert. “Wolfmother is still Andrew’s thing, so it was just for the purposes of keeping it low-key,” the spokeswoman said, but she wouldn’t confirm if Stockdale’s new recruits are permanent members of the band. Tokyo Police Club Pay a Visit to Wisteria LaneIn case you were busy watching last night’s TRL finale, you missed a strange collision of cultures over on ABC, as Canadian indie rockers Tokyo Police Club guested on Desperate Housewives. The plot of the episode centered around a “Battle of the Bands” night at a club somewhere close to Wisteria Lane. The TPC boys appeared as a group called Coldsplash but played one of their originals “In a Cave.” Two of the band members even had lines in the episode, but those were apparently edited out of the final version. “”I walked past Eva Longoria at one point but I didn’t say hi,” said keyboardist Graham Wright. “You know how it is, they probably had better things to do than talk to us.” Related Stories: • Breaking: Tokyo Police Club • Tokyo Police Club Rock With Weezer, Angels & Airwaves on Tour • Album Review: Tokyo Police Club: Elephant Shell

"We Are the Pipettes" by The PipettesThe Pipettes' debut album, We Are the Pipettes, was originally released in the United Kingdom back in the middle of 2006, resulting in a tidal wave of hype that carried over to American shores. The band, known for its stylish update of classic girl-group pop and its trio of adorable singers in polka dot frocks, garnered copious internet buzz, and the record became a hot item in import bins. It's tempting to suggest that a proper release of the album has come far too late in the United States, and that the Pipettes' momentum is already on the wane, but that assumption would have to be based on the insulting notion that the group's appeal is strictly limited to net-savvy hipsters. Not so! Every track on We Are the Pipettes gleams and sparkles with crisp string arrangements, groovy beats, slick harmonies and meticulously crafted melodies that appreciate with each listen, leaving tracks like "Pull Shapes," "ABC," and "One Night Stand" feeling like familiar

Phish Plan to Debut New Tune in Virginia, Ramp Up Battle Against Bootleg GoodsPhish fans heading down to Hampton, Virginia, for the band’s first reunion gigs this weekend have a lot to look forward to: Trey Anastasio tells the New York Times that the band will provide “long shows of pure physical pleasure” so fans can “dance and forget their troubles. It’s like a service commitment.” But wait, there’s more: the band says they’re not just going to jam out on old tunes. Phish have demoed roughly 20 songs for a new album and one of those new tracks, “Backwards Down the Number Line,” will debut at Hampton; Anastasio played the song at solo gigs, but not with his old band. (Rolling Stone will be on the ground with the Phish nation this weekend, so check Rock Daily for reports from the scene.) But before they take the stage in Virginia, Phish are continuing their fight against bootleg merchandisers. According to the Chicago Tribune, the group asked a judge to block the illegal sale of bootleg shirts, posters and other merchandise — which may include recordings — at their shows. In the suit, filed against John Does 1-100 and ABC Corporations 1-5 due to the anonymity of the sellers, Phish argue, “Because they are generally nomadic individuals without a business premises or other connection to the area, Bootleggers often flee the area permanently once they have sold Bootleg Merchandise.” Phish have asked for police to be permitted to seize unauthorized goods, and are also seeking unspecified damages, but the real goal here is prevent people from peddling unlicensed goods in the parking lot, so good luck getting one of those “NICU” shirts with the Nike symbol. Britney Spears News Bonanza! Plus New Janet Jackson Album, “Guitar Hero III” Sued Over Mono Sound and More Britney Spears news time! Where to begin? We’ll start here: a thirty-second clip of Britney Spears’ almost-didn’t-happen, paparazzi-criticizing new video for “Piece of Me” can be viewed here. Want to see more? Tune into 20/20 tonight at 10 PM on ABC to see more clips and a report about the singer. Her train is so wrecked, in fact, that American Idol doesn’t want anything to with her, as executive producer Nigel Lythgoe tells Us that the poptart won’t appear on AI because “I don’t think she is well enough to do anything.” She is well enough to do one thing: Party! After not appearing at a court deposition because she was “too ill,” Brit showed up at her Hollywood hotspots ’til 2 AM, prompting her ex Kevin Federline to ask the court to not allow Spears to argue for more custody of their children. Janet Jackson will release her new album Discipline, produced by Rodney Jenkins, the Dream, Ne-Yo and her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, on February 26th. The first single from the album is “Feedback,” which you can find here. Twisted Sister are accused of not refunding $25,000 they were given for a troops-supporting benefit show that was canceled. When the lure of the hair-metal band only managed to sell eighty-seven tickets, the concert was scrapped, and now the band is not only reportedly keeping their upfront fee, they’re demanding the remainder of the $25,000 they’re owed for not performing. The Drive-By Truckers will release their eighth album Brighter Than Creation’s Dark on January 28th. They’ll support the nineteen-song LP with a twenty-nine-city tour that kicks off February 11th in Anaheim, California. In what could be the strangest lawsuit ever, a strange, strange audiophile named Samuel Livingstone filed a class action suit against Activision, the makers of Guitar Hero III for saying that the Nintendo Wii version of the game comes with “Dolb
