- Classics, Rocks 'n' Ballads

Made in EU in 2000, Serial# 74321-77407-2, Playing Time 68:42

This compilation lifts tracks from their 1983 album "Balls To The Wall", up to 1996's "Predator".

This is the first compilation that explores albums beyond "Russian Roulette", so that in itself makes it worthwhile for the uninitiated; what's a bit of a disadvantage is the eclectic track selection: from the wimpy beginning of "Mistreated", you wonder what this disc has in store for you; "Classics? perhaps not, but some "rocks 'n' ballads", for sure! Though I find their more recent albums (e.g. "Death Row" and "Predator") somewhat uneven, we're still treated to tracks that are more in their customary genre: "Walking In The Shadow" and "Guardian Of The Night" for example, as well as the KROKUS-like "Hard Attack".

If you have most of their discography, you can pass up on this, unless you crave for the "single versions" of "Mistreated" and "All Or Nothing". If you're new to ACCEPT, and are looking for a decent complement to other compilations like "No Substitutes" and "Steel Glove", this is for you: uneven as it is, it still contains a lot more rockers than ballads.
