- 3 Stars + 4 Stars + 5 Stars

One good disc, one great disc, and one excellent disc...and all for a discounted price. The first album contains some chesnuts for sure: "Somebody", "Dream On", "Mama Kin" and "Write Me" are great songs, but only "Dream On" has the polished hard rock sound Aerosmith would achieve later. The tunes have a borrowed bluesy sound, the lyrics are not yet humorous or clever, and the recording sounds like it was made using soup can microphones.

"Get Your Wings" was a big step forward in terms of recording and performance. Most of the tracks are CLASSIC Aerosmith, but "Seasons of Wither", "Same Old Song & Dance", and "Lord of the Thighs" are top notch. With this LP the band had learned to swagger and strut, the lyrics were about sex, sex, sex (with a humorous twist), and the riffs are raunchy, sweaty & tasty as hell.

"Toys in the Attic" is nearly perfect. Lots of stylistic variety demonstrated in the likes of "Uncle Salty" and "Big Ten Inch Record", yet the stream of perfect riff-rockers is amazing. My personal favorite is "Adam's Apple", but dude...also included are "Sweet Emotion", "Walk this Way", "Toys in the Attic", and "No More, No More".

I saw Aerosmith in the summer of 1979 when I was 12 years old. "Night in the Ruts" had been recorded but not yet released. The band was trashed & sloppy, but it was the best day of my life up until that point. They opened with "Train Kept a Rollin" and I had a stupid grin on my face for over an hour until they wrapped up with "Draw the Line". (NOTE: AC/DC with Bon Scott opened the show and Ted Nugent headlined). Anyhow...I'm not a kid anymore, but these discs remind me of the best parts of adolescence. This is da poop, babies.

- The first three albums... revisited and boxed up

If only it had the next 3 too! But this boxed set is AWESOME. If you don't buy the Box of Fire, and you are wanting the first 3 CDs Aerosmith put out, this is for yoU!! It's a great value, and the box it is in is cute. These 3 CDs are SOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!! The album Rocks is the only one that tops any of these. You should buy Rocks, too!!!

- Aerosmith box set

It was great to be able to replace 3 of my favorite aerosmith records in one fell swoop. I enjoyed listening to all the old stuff that hadn't been on radio for some time. Also, my 20 year old daughter told me that "Get Your Wings " was awesome, and she burned it into her ipod. High praise indeed!

- It doesn't get much better than this....

....but if you are a fan of their most recent releases than keep on clicking. These three CDs are some of the best American heavy blues rock ever recorded. I wish they had included "Rocks" with this collection, but you can't have everything. These three records influenced some of the 80's heavyweights like Motley Crue and Guns N Roses (who even recorded their own version of "Mama Kin" for their "Live....Like a Suicide", subsequently made the b-side of their "Lies" release) and numerous other hard rock bands. The Bullet Boys (and 80's "hair" band one hit wonder) even recorded a song about Joe Perry entitled "Owed To Joe" about Joe Perry's influence. These three discs show exactly why. If you are serious about finding out why Aerosmith are so reverred, why they were inducted into the RnR H.O.F. ahead of icons such as KISS and Black Sabbath, then this is should be your next music purchase. You can't beat the price either.

- ROCK YOUR FACE OFF!!!!

Here in one box, someone managed to put together three of the greatest rock and roll albums ever made. Joined right in the center by THE greatest rock and roll album ever made.... I talk of course of Aerosmiths second album GET YOUR WINGS. Easily the most balls out, sleazy, rock and roll experience one could ever obtain.

On the ends are two more A-smith albums worthy of high praise. The debut, and the third, a classic, TOYS IN THE ATTIC.

It's funny, because back in the day, I bought a box from Columbia that included Aersomith albums 2-4, that included Rocks, another timeless... however, if you are new to the BBofB, I would definately recommend going for this box. Each one of the first three albums is the cats PeeJays.

ALBUM ONE includes the killer track DREAM ON, which was mine and many others first glimpse of the band. The rest of this album showcases a knack for bluesy style jams, in a unique rock and roll voice.

WINGS ups the anti a ton. And literally is one of the most important rock records ever made. Even the great Zep cannot match the style and attitude of this brilliance. Play loud and unrelentlessly.

TOYS is the one that brought in the commercial success, but never slumps behind the first two. Many hail it as the bands best (some say Rocks-so check that out next...) but pretty much all the tunes that get replayed year after year come off of this one... WALK THIS WAY, SWEET EMOTION, NO MORE NO MORE and so forth...

If I've done my math correctly I believe you get 28 tracks in all. Every one is killer, and these are most certainly albums that you should have in your collection. If you're cool. You know. If you're not cool, then go check out Wham! or something... ok. that's all from me. Later... Enjoy!
