Disco de Air Supply: “All Out of Love: The Ultimate Performance”

After performing over thirty years together Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock have not lost a beat. This definetly is the ultimate performance! The concert starts in a very romantic setting as Russell Hitchcock is performing Now and Forever with no music. Just his unbeleivable voice and joined gradually by Graham Russell and their unbeleivable 4 piece band. This duo does not dissapoint. They perform all their greatest hits mixed in with other wonderful ballads. They perform Two less lonely people in the world accoustic style. 16 songs in all. The concert lasts for about 1 hr. and 45 min. Well worth the investment. If you are an Air Supply fan as I am this dvd does not dissapoint.

I have the good fortune of watching Air Supply live in Rama Casino, Canada in 8/2006 and had thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the experience. So it is much to my delight that I found this DVD. It allows me to re-live the concert experience. Yes, the singers have aged so it is noticeable that Russell sometimes struggled to hit that high note. However, new instrumental arrangement for some of their favorite classics is so well-done that this shortfall is more than compensated. Although I have been an Air Supply fan for a long time, I never learned to appreciate Graham's poetic talent until now. As the main composer, he is a true artist. The performance of the other band members is also outstanding. Judging from their young age, I have to assume that they are not from the original cast. The concert is full of energy and the audience is very engaged. If you cannot make it to Rama Casino in Toronto Canada, this concert DVD is a "must have" as it delivers close to the live experience. The only complain I have about the disc is that the DTS track does not work. The Dolby Digital delivers acceptable audio quality though.

True, the Russell Hithcock of 2004 doesn't look or sound like he did in 1984. I think its on account of something called REALITY. Some of the high notes are no longer there. But he still sings great and sounds great in the voice that he does have and that's enough to deliver these songs to a very appreciative audience. Graham Russell still sounds the same with his relaxed delivery. All the big hits from the 80s are given good performances and the newer songs prove to be just as good as the more familiar ones. Some of their best work has been done on releases from 91 onward and I for one would like to hear more of those songs on the dvd.

I bought this for my girlfriend who use to really like Air Suppy, but it seems the main singer really can't sing any more. It was just horrible. Amazon was good enough to allow me to return it for a full refund. Thanks again to Amazon
