Alphaville Album: “Stark Naked and Absolutely Live”

While offering just a sampling of AVs vast library of songs, this live compilation is superb. Mixed superbly with outstanding sound quality and a clear distinction between crowd and band, Stark Naked is a perfect companion piece to those lucky enough to have purchased the 8 CD Dreamscapes collection. For those who haven't, this offers a wonderful insight into Marion Gold's vocal beauty and stage presence. The addition of a much-needed live version of Apollo (easily the CDs best track) makes it more than worth the price. This is a highly needed CD for any fan of intelligent techno and a MUST for any Alphaville fan.

I watched them live, I met them backstage and they're great! Apart from being a really cool bunch of guys, they play excellent music too. Being a avid Alphaville fan, it comes as no surprise that I would rate this live album so highly. A bit different from their actual CD music but never the less a really different experience. For all it's worth, I never take this one out of my car...

Best Live Cd that I own and the hidden track is the highlight. A must own!!!

Por años los seguidores de Alphaville hemos querido oir un album en vivo, y he aqui este CD. Pasaron muy bien la prueba.

El playlist me pareció seleccionado, y la voz de Marian Gold en vivo le dio cierto aire mas dramático y personal a sus canciones. Claro, no faltarian "forever young" y "dance with me " las obligatorias en toda recopilacion de Alphaville, al fin y al cabo estas dos canciones los lanzaron al estrellato. Las demás canciones de este CD son tomadas de los ultimos albumes, "prostitute" y "salvation" el inicio del concierto se vuelve muy energico y positivo, la mitad se envuelve relajante con oir "flame", y el final se enciende con canciones de "prostitute"; luego de un espacio en blanco de 2 min aparece repentinamente la version de dance with me en piano, un final perfecto para un concierto de ellos.

Recomendado para continuar la coleccion de los chicos alemanes. Es buena idea tambien tener los CDs anteriores para saber como tocan en vivo y en estudio.

As the other reviewers I am a fan of Alphaville, yes the energy of this music is amazing, it refers to the feeling that in the 80's everything was still possible. A DVD of this concert was realized, 2500 exemplars were produced, and I am the lucky one to own one. It is the same experience but at the square. You should see the public of young people of Salt Lake City discovering the band, most of them were probably just born when Alphaville started to sing. If I would have known I would have joined! Definitely the best live album ever!
