- The best album of 1994 (Perhaps the album of the decade!)

There is a definite crime involved with this album, the crime of neglect. eight years ago America was deprived of the most complex, compelling and dynamic material thus created by AV. One can understand how threatened the American labels felt when they heard this music. After hearing this sound why would you want to go back to the radio?

Okay, enough of the polemics.

Listen and perpare to be moved.

- Intense Lyrics and music - a lot of creative thought

At first, I wasn't sure I would like this album as much as the others. However [while their earlier stuff (Forever Young) & (Afternoons in Utopia) is more raw and fresh] Prostitute is refined, I really liked it. The more you listen to it, the more it makes you think. Tracks like The Paradigm Shift catch you off guard. The lyrics from the Ivory Tower are powerful, I believe the song's theme argues the controversy of fantasy and reality. The hero is slipping sideways between the two. The One Thing is my current favorite song because of the images my mind creates when I listen to it, but with all my favorite albums, I consistently change favorite songs. Euphoria - is just WOW and I LOVE the ending. In sum, I like this album because it is dark and philosophical. A mature album for a more mature Alphaville. Enough of my thoughts - BUY THIS and do a little deep thinking of your own.

- The best Alphaville has made, (so far, 12/1998)

The other two reviewers did not lie. This may be the pinnacle of this band. Not only does this CD have hooks, sometimes the path of the song will change midstream (Atlantis), or be mixed with the next song (Oh Patti). I have had this CD for about three years now and it is still my favorite. If you like music that will give you chills, this is the one to get. By far the best they've done.

- Another stunning work of Art

Alphaville did it again, after a few years of musical silence! It's difficult to compare Alphaville albums because they are all so good, and "Prostitute" is no exception. I can't believe that none of the other reviewers mentioned "All In the Golden Afternoon"... that's still my all time favourite Alphaville song, better than "Carol Masters" on Afternoons in Utiopia and "For a Million" on Breathtaking Blue.
