Alter Bridge man auditioned for Led Zeppelin

Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy has confirmed that he auditioned to be Robert Plant's replacement in Led Zeppelin, after the vocalist declined to be involved with a potential world tour. "It was surreal," Kennedy told US radio's The Blairing Out With Eric Blair show. "Alter Bridge will go on, and that's that. It was great. I'll tell that story some day."

Chris Cornell denies Led Zeppelin frontman rumours

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave vocalist Chris Cornell has denied rumours he is to front Led Zeppelin on their forthcoming world tour. Since news broke of original frontman Robert Plant’s reluctance to commit to the band, Cornell has been mooted to front the reformed rockers along with Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, ex-Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar, White Stripes’ Jack White and Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy. “I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumour or it might be true.” Meanwhile, Cornell will release his third solo album, Scream, in January.
