- This stands to eternity
This is one of the best Anathema record ever to this day.It will stand to eternety. Fantastic sound, you will just be drawn away to a place inside your mind, dreamy and wonderfull, but still powerfull and full of energy. Gotich dark influences, some call this doom but their doom days where over with Serenades. This albums stands for it alone, it will goes in in the rock history for great album`s.Beautyfull singing, takes you through the hole specter of emotions, reflections and feelings. Great lyrics, great songs. Good harmonies takes the songs up to harder parties and down to mellow parties. They build their songs up like this, harder parties and down to mellow parties, guitar riffs, medly and back to lyrics and chourch. Into the song take another direction and opens a new univers of instrumential material.
You can hear it very good in the song Eternety part 1 and 2.
The opening intro to this record called Sentied is just wonderfull, played with synth. This album takes you there and back in a second, and you will ask for more. This is a hard album compare to their later relised- this record and Silent Enigma was their break from doom more and more, Serenades and Pentecost/crestfallen is their doom records with gruff singing voice. They have taken their music here on another level, you can hear that it`s doom influenced but not like their earlier records. This whole record is a masterpice. But if I have to recomend some of the songs her I would recomend Angelica, Eternety part 1,2 and 3, Far away and Cries in the wind.
Give this record a try, You won`t be disapointed.

- Brilliant
This is, quite simply, a brilliant work from a great band. Nothing on it really stands out, but rather, the whole album itself. The songs compliment each other excelently. Personal favorites are "Far Away" "Hope" and "Angelica." A lot of people say this album is boring, but i dont think they picked up on the raw emotion in it. At the end of Eternity II i literally felt like i was being accelerated, it was kind of like a high...and any band that is capable of doing that deserved 5 stars

- My favorite album of all time
Because of it's passion, emotion, and depth, this is my favorite album of all time and an essential for any doom fan. I have easily listened to this album 250 times and it has not yet failed to earn my undivided attention. Sissy as it may sound, this album has also been a good friend in dark times.

- Yes, I know we are forever!
If I were stranded on a deserted island with a stereo system, but could have only one cd...this is the cd I'd choose. Even more telling, if I were somehow rescued from that island but couldn't bring the cd with me and never listen to it again, I'd stay on the island listening to Eternity. Yes, it's that good. It transcends music, it goes beyond anything I've ever heard. It's the most cohesive album ever written, and not to mentioned perfectly produced, from the first note to the last. Every human emotion appears in this cd. When I die, at my eulogy, I want this cd to be playing in the background. If I ever get married, it shall be playing too. The saddest thing about listening to Eternity, is that I know, despite their other great albums, there will never be another cd in my lifetime that I will like more...or even half as much. I'm just thankful that I heard about it and bought when it came out. It's as much a part of my life as my left foot; in fact I think I'd rather have the cd over my left foot. Buy this cd; buy 20 copies of it! But be patient with it; it takes a couple of months to really get into. Once you do, you'll never be able to get it out of your system. It will be the one thing in your life you turn to. My favorite track is Eternity Part 1. The other thing that is so great about the album is that the music captures the emotion, the meaning of the cover art work, which is also my favorite. Do you think we're forever? Yes, I'm sure of it.

- deserves a six, my metal heritage is due to this album.
my story: my life is metal. black/doom/prog/speed/thrash/death.
this was the first anathema album i heard. this was actually one of the first "real" metal albums i heard (european). anathema is like a cigarette. i'm addicted to metal now because of anathema but i still havent found the fix i did in the beginning...with anathema. simply put anathema is amazing. the only bands i have found that comes close for me are opeth, katatonia, and agalloch.
heres a little knowledge on anathema: uk based unit consisting of four. two guitars, bass, and drums. have had at least a dozen albums stemming back to early nineties. old stuff is mostly doom/black metal. new stuff is doom/prog/atmaspheric
one thing with anathema, every album is very defined with its' own style. eternity is very very beutiful music.
