I have always been connected to the spirit world, but as a child, you don't really think of it as being different. It's like being born with blue eyes - its just who you are. At around seven years of age, I was always in trouble for talking in class and my teacher sat me at the back of the room facing the wall. She was then outraged that I continued talking - this time to the wall! Obviously, I was talking with my spirit friends, which seemed perfectly natural to me.Have you always had a lot of communication with the spirit world?Over the years they came and went as my life took shape, returning with a greater purpose in mind in my mid thirties. I attended a seminar on mediumship and sat rather spellbound as a woman spoke about things I had previously never discussed with anyone else. That day I heard a spirit voice talking very loudly and this was the first step in consciously re-awakening my abilities.What were you doing at the time?In 1996 I was employed as Corporate Services Manager. I didn't set out to become a medium, but I had a passion for spiritual understanding. I spent a lot of time, effort and money learning all I could about how best to use my abilities. I now know that our gifts are meant to be for the benefit of others. When did you begin to work professionally?I had an epiphany. Late one evening, exhausted from a long day at work, I seriously considered giving up my mediumship. It was proving difficult to balance the needs of the spirit world with my demanding job. I fell asleep on the train ride home, wondering if I should simply close the door to the spirit realm and get on with a normal life like everyone else. Without warning, I was jolted from sleep when someone thumped me on the chest and sternly told me: 'wake up to yourself!'
