Slash Says Stone Temple Pilots to Reunite Stone Temple Pilots will reunite this summer, according to Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash. The top-hatted axeman told Billboard that VR lead singer Scott Weiland will rejoin with his former bandmates, two-thirds of whom have most recently been teaming up with Filter’s Richard Patrick in the band Army of Anyone, for a handful of concerts to take place this summer. Slash’s comments echoed the quotes Weiland gave to the Miami Herald earlier this week, alerting fans they should be “on the lookout for an STP reunion in the coming months.” Velvet Revolver is currently touring in support of their second album Libertad, with songs by Stone Temple Pilots and Guns n’ Roses also featured in the set list. STP broke up in 2002 following the release of their fifth album Shangri-La Dee Da. Bon Jovi, Jeff Tweedy, Queen, the Shins, My Morning Jacket Feel the Holiday Spirit With Charity Songs, Shows Since ’tis the season to give, many artists are finding ways to assist those in need by contributing a song to a charity compilation or performing at a benefit concert. Here’s a short list of rockers angling to get on Santa’s “Good” list: The Shins, Spoon, the Cure and Animal Collective are among the dozen artists providing exclusive songs to Causes 1, a Waxploitation release that will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to charities assisting the Darfur crisis. The pirate dress Britney Spears infamously gave a waitress on Halloween after the two women swapped costumes is currently up for auction on the Us Weekly site. The winning bid will go to the Make-A-Wish foundation. Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, Will Oldham, Kim and Kelley Deal and Steve Albini will all appear at The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters to Santa. The twenty-hour event features Chicago-area comedians improvising for the duration, with spells of relief from the musicians. The event starts on December 4th at 7 PM (and concludes December 5th at 7 PM) and will help provide Christmas gifts to needy children. In addition to his year-round charity work with Philly’s Project H.O.M.E., Jon Bon Jovi will also headline the Hope Concert III on December 21st in Red Bank, NJ. The concert will help benefit The Valerie Fund, an organization that helps children with cancers and blood disorders. EXCLUSIVE: Clint Eastwood Likens '08 Election to Oprah Car Giveaway [Defamer Decides 2008]Clint Eastwood took himself and his new film Changeling to its US premiere last weekend at the New York Film Festival. Just like we had for our audience with Mickey Rourke, we sneaked in via a film canister to check out the scene and lob a question his way; still, as lovely and reliably austere as Changeling is, we had more pressing issues on our mind than how little Eastwood rehearsed with Angelina Jolie (answer: hardly at all). To wit: How is a long-time conservative, former elected official and John McCain supporter like Eastwood getting his head around the Celebrity Election of '08 — Sarah Palin's candidacy in particular? Was this a circus anyone could have foreseen 57 years ago when he joined the GOP? He wasn't really going there, we soon learned (he was only slightly more candid at the recent New Yorker Festival, vaguely alluding to Palin's "truthfulness in her debate with Joe Biden). But as reformed Republicans go, Eastwood still packs a robust skepticism alongside his tux when he travels. "My mortgage is in the toilet, too," he replied. "I haven't been very active in politics. Yes, I started out as a Republican in 1951; I was a young 21-year-old in the Army, and I wanted to vote for Dwight Eisenhower. He, like all politicians, was always promising something, and he promised he would go to Korea and end the Korean War. But the Republican Party, as has the Democratic Party, has changed dramatically in the 50-some years that I've been involved with it, so I've sort of drifted to a more Libertarian point of view. The Libertarian Party never got going as a party — just leave everybody alone. It was very appealing to a guy like myself who came up in the '30s and watched my parents struggle through the Depression and [who] nowadays is wanting for nothing. "Now, of course, everybody is promising everything," Eastwood continued. "That's the only way to get elected: You have to promise to give people all kinds of stuff. 20 Songs That Need To Be In Rock Band ImmediatelyRock Band 2 has been out for a little more than a month now, and Guitar Hero World Tour is upon us too, and yet, while part of me feels like I should have gotten tired of these games long ago, there are simply too many great songs left to play for me to stop shelling out hundreds of dollars to receive different combinations of scrolling, color-coded boxes. Just off the top of my head (two months worth of thinking), here's a list of 20 songs that need to be included in the Rock Band / Guitar Hero series before I'm too old to scream along to them in a British accent without permanently retarding the development of my eventual children. 20. White Stripes - Seven Nation Army Still no White Stripes in any of the music games (guess it's not as glamorous as Bond credits or a Coke commercial), but this song would finally give the bassist something to do outside of Won't Get Fooled Again, plus you could set the Drumming difficulty to "Infant". 19. Andrew W.K. - Party Hard Bonus 50% multiplier if the lead singer bloodies himself mid-song. 18. Neil Young - Rockin' In The Free World If Neil Young is truly as into self-reinvention and adapting to the times as his fans claim, why wouldn't he allow his song to be divided into a series of five colored boxes for drunk people with plastic instruments? 17. Spin Doctors - Two Princes The day I stop wanting to sing, drum, and play guitar on this song all at once is the day I take my own life. (That's a joke, right Dan? No it's not, reader.) 16. Rancid - Ruby Soho I probably enjoy this song more than anyone still should in this crazy, post-1995 world we live in, but whatever. Here it is. 15. Pulp - Common People It's 2008 and this song hasn't stopped being awesome. 14. Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy See previous. 13. U2 - I Will Follow I just hope when U2 finally does appear in the game, it's not Vertigo and Elevation playing simultaneously. 12. Prince - 1999 Finally, a chance to be Prince outside of your masturbation fantasies! 11. No Dou

I Knifed A Girl: Katy Perry Flicks Her Blade And Joey Lappin DiesANORAK is delighted to see that lesbian enthusiast Katy Perry has bucked the trend for eating with her fingers and has taken to wielding a knife. The singer’s other hand of not in shot on the Sun’s cover page, but Anorak wagers that it holds a fork or – little steps (Miss Perry is an American) - a spoon. Harsh, indeed, then for the Sun to brand Perry the “No1 idiot” in “SINGER KNIFE OUTRAGE”. The Sun pictures 16-year-old Army cadet Joey Lappin, who has been stabbed to death. He is not the No1 Idiot, neither is his killer, nor is any member of the gang that chased him and also stabbed his friend, 17-year-old Callum Naden, also not the No1 idiot. The Sun’s focus is on Perry, who has not stabbed anyone, to the best of our knowledge. The Sun calls Richard Taylor, father to murdered Damiloa Taylor, and gets the response: “Any youngsters seeing this will think it’s OK to carry a blade.” The Sun is taking quite a risk, then, in broadcasting the image to its readers and their families. If the paper gets into the wrongs hands, young girls will be going about the place topless, getting off with each other and carrying erect flick knives. It’s a vision only compounded by the fact that the image, produced for a publicity shot for her 2008 release One For The Boys, didn’t make the final cut for her LP sleeve. It has been left to the Sun to bring it to the attention of impressionable yoofs… KATY PERRY - PERRY’S KNIFE SNAP SLAMMED Taylor Swift Does Katy Perry A Free Knife With Every Box Of Cereal Katy Perry Fancied to Kiss Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Angelina Jolie Harrowing Stuff: Knife Crime Ravages Yorkshire Village Selling Knife Crime: Eros’s Arrow And Selfridge’s Red Hearts T-Shirts Knife Crime: Police Seize Intergalactic Klingon Blade This Is A Knife: Tabloids Showcase Knife Crime Shaun Bailey On The Ego Of Knife Crime

Vin Diesel: From Duck Addict To Dad [Celeb Babies]Sure, things may seem to have gotten quiet on the Vin Diesel front, but that doesn't mean Hollywood's Biggest Action Hero Bargain hasn't been keeping busy. He's currently shooting The Fast and the Fourious, the third sequel to the street-racing-movie franchise to which he once swore he'd never return. (His legendary kiss-off speech, climaxing with, "Pimp my balls! The only movie I'm interesting in making stars an army of elephants and costs eleventy billion dollars!" is required reading for USC's From A to Z-List: A Survey of Movie Star Hubris class.) Even more exciting? People reports Diesel is a new dad: Vin Diesel and his girlfriend, model Paloma Jimenez, have quietly become parents of a baby girl, his rep tells PEOPLE. Diesel, 40, and Jimenez welcomed their first child on April 2. They say fatherhood can soften even the stoniest of men—and yet as anyone who's ever seen Diesel work a movie premiere already knows, the actor's gruff exterior is just window dressing for the incorrigible goofball lying within. Yes, his equally bald baby daughter is just about the luckiest kid in Hollywood right now, with round-the-clock access to her father's dazzling array of rubberized silly-faces, and regular visits from her celebrity god-duck, Uncle Quackers. Katie Holmes In Red And Shilling That Terrible-Looking Movie
Here's some shots of Katie Holmes still riding the "Mad Money" train, and making her way into her Letterman appearance. Did anyone see the commercial for "Mad Money"? Holy god, does that look bad. If I wanted to watch an old woman, a lesbian and a cult wife roll around on a blanket of stolen cash I'd.....on second thought, maybe I do want to see that movie. That's a hot storyline. Why is Katie constantly aging herself up with these get-ups? Yes, she looks put together but she's not forty. Please refer to that Rolling Stone cover from years back when she was a hot teen on a tire swing. She should stick with that look. Just wear white t-shirts and denim shorts and carry a tire swing around to look seductive on. I know that might be difficult to transport but I'm sure you can get a limo big enough to house it. Hell, your limo already fits Xenu, that child that's not biologically yours, Tom's repressed sexuality, and a whole army of Scientology officials to make sure you don't escape. It can fit a tire swing.

More photos of Katie Holmes arriving at David Letterman for her appearance are after the jump.
