“Showbiz, there’s deals to make/So let’s get busy and dig in the crates” – Showbiz & AG, Diggin’ in the Crates...During one of my several aborted attempts to learn how to play punk, I read that all beginners need are E or D-major barre chords. Six of those, and you’re on your way to a song.

Sounds like art
THE ART OF NOISE Static and squeaks, things usually avoided in music, are written into the musical score by sound installation artist and composer Daniel Steffey. The Nov. 11 grand opening of 5th Wall Gallery, in Emergency Arts, featured a live performance by Steffey and Bay Area violinist Christina Stanley for the sound installation Sonic Trichromacy.

Album: Duane Eddy, Road Trip
Mad Monkey -
The legendary twang guitarist's first album in 24 years mercifully contains none of the gimmicks used by his 1980s collaborators Art of Noise, just a timeless surf sound from producer, co-writer and obvious fan Richard Hawley.

Guitar Legend Duane Eddy on First Album in Twenty Four Years
"They're calling us 'avant garde'," chuckles Duane Eddy , "which is kind of true, because we avant garde a clue what we're doing!" Let it not be said that rock'n'roll is without humour and Duane Eddy, one of the most instantly recognisable and important guitarists of his and any generation, is chuckling at his recollection of re-working 'Peter Gunn' with the Art of Noise back in 1986. ZTT Reissues Frankie Goes to Hollywood, More
As much an art project as a successful pop label, the 80s/90s-vintage British imprint ZTT -- co-founded in part by supremely slick producer Trevor Horn and futurist pop critic Paul Morley-- released conceptual all-surface hits from groups like the Art of Noise and Grace Jones, as well as releases by artists as diverse as 808 State, the Frames, and Seal. And in a new reissue series, the label is ...
