A day doesn't go by lately without another band reforming – and the latest group rumoured to be on the verge of a reconciliation is Atomic Kitten. We've all become accustomed to hearing tales about Lily Allen's various pops at various people, so it's actually quite a shock when someone has a dig at her for a change. Obviously the Atomic Kitten comeback doesn’t make our hearts flutter like Take That, or our legs zig-a-zig-ah like the Spice Girls, but we’ve still been curious to see what they’d have up their sleeves/paws. This is the video for their new single (a Cilla Black cover. Brilliant!) – what do you make of it? We have two points: 1. Is it just us or does it look like they all filmed their bits separately? 2. Yikes! Guess who this is?

No, it's not another pop has-been emerging from rehab, but rather Atomic Kitten Liz McLarnon helping promote a new campaign about the damaging effects of smoking. The singer had a professional make-up artist show what years of smoking can do to your skin as part of the Liverpool-based D-MYST campaign, which targets smoking in films and the media. "I smoked for four years and my skin was spotty and grey-looking and I thought it was my diet," Liz revealed. "It was my dermatologist who told me that my skin looked so bad because of my smoking. Now I just think you look horrible, you smell horrible and you are killing yourself." Liz now says that she wouldn't even date anyone who puffs away. "I could never be with anyone who smokes, no matter how much I loved them," she said. "I just could not bring myself to kiss them." Not even Colin Farrell? Really??

Oh no, ANOTHER former pop star fancies herself as a novelist…

Clearly inspired by the literary success of Kerry, Geri, Madge, Jordan and, um, Charles Dickens, the latest “star” to have a go at that old novel-writing malarkey is former Atomic Kitten singer Liz McClarnon. Liz is apparently having a go at writing a book about the trials and tribulations of a girl band – my my, where did she get an idea like that?! Will they be called Bionic Mitten?! The only difference between Liz and some stars, though, is that she isn’t using a ghost writer – she’s going to come up with every word using her own brain. Blimey. Liz’s nearest and dearest say she has three publishers battling to sign her – and she’s even planning a reality show about the whole process, which will see famous authors of fiction coaching her. They’re whispering about JK Rowling, but we’ll believe that when we see it. Liz is quite good at trying her hand at new things – she did, after all, win Celebrity Masterchef with no previous experience. Still, we’re not sure if we’ll be queuing up to read this particular book – a quick glance at her old mate Kerry’s, er, body of work has put us off these things for life!
