Q&A: Lemmy Kilmister on Motorhead’s Longevity, Famous Friends and Bad AdviceWhen Rolling Stone dialed up Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister to discuss the band’s 20th studio release, Motörizer (out August 26th), the famously moled rocker was happy to share his recipe for the perfect beverage: “One-third Jack, two-thirds Coke, about five ice cubes. Don’t bother stirring it, it’ll stir you! And then bend over, double and drink it upside down — that’ll cure your fucking hiccups!” Kilmister also opened up about stupid record-company advice, the war in Iraq, his days hanging with Jimi Hendrix and his new documentary, Lemmy: The Movie. • Q&A: Lemmy Kilmister [Photo: Getty]

Buying a Band: Not As Cool As It SoundsIf you happen to be a bajillionaire with really bad taste in music or a really weird sense of humor, you might consider “buying” that band Rednex (you know, the dudes responsible for that annoying “Cotton-Eyed Joe” song popular at any and all major sporting events.) So what does buying a band entail exactly? Well, according to the eBay post advertising this bizarre commercial endeavor, it means: The buyer will get 100% of the shares to the Swedish company Rednex AB (equiv

Bad Company Book Reunion TourPhoto: Michael Ochs Archive/Getty After a successful one-night-only reunion concert last year, the members of ’70s supergroup Bad Company will once again come together, this time for a run of summer 2009 shows. According to a press release, the band’s founding members — singer Paul Rodgers, guitarist Mick Ralphs and drummer Simon Kirke — are all on board for the 10 shows that kick off June 17th in Hollywood, Florida and conclude July 4th in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Doobie Brothers will join Bad Company on the tour. In August 2008, the three remaining members of Bad Company (bassist Boz Burrell passed away in 2006) reunited for the first time in nearly a decade to perform at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. A DVD of that sold-out show, Bad Company – Hard Rock Live, will be released on August 8th. “It’s great to be back with Paul and Simon,” Ralphs said in a statement. “We made great music together and had the time of our lives doing it. I’m really looking forward to getting back out there this summer.” As of right now, the jaunt doesn’t take the band west of Michigan. Prior commitments may prevent this from becoming a full-scale reunion tour, however. As Rock Daily previously reported, Mick Ralphs is set to reunite with glam band Mott the Hoople in October, and Rodgers still has some touring obligations to Queen following the release of The Cosmos Rocks last year. Check the tour dates as they stand now below: Bad Company June 17 - Hollywood, FL @ Hard Rock Live June 19 - Atlanta, GA @ Chastain Park Amphitheatre June 20 - Charlotte, NC @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre June 23 - Raleigh, NC @ Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek June 24 - Virginia Beach, FL @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre June 27 - Bethel, NY @ Bethel Woods Center for the Arts June 28 - Wantagh, NY @ Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre July 1 - Independence Township, MI @ DTE Energy Music Theatre July 2 - Canandaigua, NY @ CMAC July 4 - Atlantic City, NJ @ Resorts Atlantic City Related Stories: •

Wilco Get Experimental On June Album: Update Plus Early Track ListPhoto: Jeff Sciortino In Rolling Stone’s Spring Album Preview, Jeff Tweedy says Wilco’s country-tinged album, due in June, is their best yet. “We wanted to go in there with more of an eye for sculpting something sonically,” he says. The group also confirmed that the album’s closing track, “You and I,” will feature Canadian songstress Feist on vocals. Today Wilco took to their official Website to tell fans they’ve spent the past few weeks in Valencia, California, mixing the disc. The band adds, “Here’s a list of song titles spied on the reels — note this is not necessarily complete and not in sequence:” “Deeper Down” “Conscript (aka I’ll Fight)” “One Wing” “Solitaire” “Wilco (the song)” “Country Disappeared” “Everlasting” “Bull Black Nova” “Sonny Feeling” “You and I” You read that right. As of right now, there is a song called “Wilco (the song)” on the album. How “Bad Company” of them. As we reported in the Spring Album preview, the theme song of sorts contains the chorus “Wilco will love you.” The album’s experimentation is anchored once again by Tweedy’s sly, insightful and often heartbreaking lyrics. “Deeper Down” opens with “By the end of the bout, he was punched out, fists capsized, muscles shouting,” while “My Country Disappeared” explores America’s “crushed cities,” concluding “There’s nothing left here.” For much more on the upcoming Wilco album, and 45 more of the biggest releases on the way, check out our Spring Music Preview: • Spring Music Preview: Inside 45 of the Year’s Biggest Albums

"We didn't kick him out. It was down to a number of reasons which would have prevented him from touring full-time with us. It's sad to see him go. He's been with us for years and we'll still remain friends." Interested parties should contact the band at annotationsofanautopsy@hotmail.co.uk. The band – who have recently inked a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records – will enter the studio in April to record their follow-up to 2008's Before The Throne Of Infection.

Liam Gallagher Says He's Top DadThough his older brother Noel Gallagher at one time worried about whether he's a good father to his now 8-year-old daughter Anais, Liam Gallagher says he doesn't harbor similar fears about his ability to parent his own children Lennon, 8 ½, and Gene, 7. "I'm top," at being a dad, the 35-year-old Oasis frontman says, adding that he and his sons "have a lot of fun." As for his brother, Liam says Noel "shouldn't get hung up on it...if any bad days have gone down you make it up to her, don’t you?" Liam, who does not use a nanny, goes on to reveal to the Times Online in a new interview that he has no regrets about sending Lennon and Gene to private school. They’ve got every right to be there as much as some banker’s son. When I pick me kid up, I feel amazing.Although Liam says he didn't intend to become a father, "once you get your missus pregnant, you’ve got to step up to the plate." Now that he is a dad, Liam says that "family's the most important thing."I enjoy [Lennon and Gene's] company more than some idiot in a band or some actor. That’s how I’ve changed.Lennon is Liam's son with ex-wife Patsy Kensit; Gene is his son with current wife, Nicole Appleton. In addition to Anais, Noel is dad to a son, 10-month-old Donovan Rory. How The Media Accepts Parpody As FactA FEW months back, Anorak receied a call from Tiger Aspect, a TV production company. The excited researcher wanted to know the contact details of Barry Richards, 16, a pupil at the Wat Tyler comprehensive in Grays, and a leading member of the Essex Young Conservatives. You can read about him here. Now Anorak’s freind in the US, 14, writes from the US about how one of her satirical works - the Urban Satchel - has been accepted as true by the mainstream press. Much to my delight, an alert reader has informed me that the NY Edition of The Metro has used my Urban Satchel in a fluff article about women’s handbags. When I first saw it, I thought it was an Onion-type parody newspaper — but it’s real. Not only did they use my image as an illustration, they included my fakery under “Purse Facts”. Unbelievable! I created that bag after gluing collected trash (including a shrimp tail and a used band-aid) onto an old purse AND I deliberately misspelled “Louie Vuitton” - which they printed. That’s almost as bad as the German TV show that featured our images of the Stella McCartney Heather Mills Jewelry Collection on their morning show as the real thing. Makes you wonder what other trickery the media publicizes as fact. It’s how the media works - someone says something, another person agrees and it becomes fact… Teachers See Red Over Blue Schoolbook
