Review - Yahoo! Music - Ken Micallef :
At first listen, Biffy Clyro sound like Scotland's answer to Nickelback: blood-letting guitars, desolate lyrics, throat-shredding vocals. But as you cut them some slack, you get the bigger Biffy Clyro picture. With its three musicians alternating lead vocal duties Biffy Clyro produce sweet harmonies, a rarity among nu-metal meatheads. They also wear Nirvana/Fugazi influences on their math rock sleeves, coupling sensitive/brutal guitar pile-ons with quirky drum rhythms and unusual, stop/start arrangements. In a couple songs the tempo actually slows down like a motor losing power. It's a unique effect that most bands couldn't pull off much less anticipate. Their vocals range from Bee Gees- worthy falsettos to full on body torture howls, but you are more likely to get caught up in Biffy Clyro's dramatically sprawling songs than their vocals, anyway. Biffy Clyro have found their wrinkle and they are working it, jugular beats, high harmonies, stupid name and all.
