- the first vicious attack from these brooklyn bombers

This was the first release from these urban hip-hop/hardcore metal fusion gods. When I first got this album the horrible recording job slapped me in the face and I really couldn't listen to it. The drums were recorded with way to much reverb on them and you can't hear the cymbals. Actually, the guitar, bass, and vocal tracks are recorded very well, however the drums lead it to be a little more disappointing than you may think. Months later I tried to listen to it in depth paying attention to the song writing and performances over the bad quality. It really impressed me the second time around. Unforgiving riffs mixing in with pissed off urban lyrics, Biohazard's unique style was all there. With many classic tracks (such as "Victory", "Retribution", "Wrong Side of the Tracks", "Hold my Own", and "Blue Blood" just to name a few) this album does not by far get the credit it deserves. For real hardcore kids out there, this may be your favorite Biohazard album yet with double bass drum everywhere, chunky palm-muted guitar, and fast beats all over the place. The only problem I've come to determine is the bad recording quality on the drums and that could be the reason Biohazard re-recorded some tracks of this album for their next release, the absolute classic Urban Discipline.

- '' A CLASSIC HARDCORE RELEASE '' ! !

AFTER SEEING THESE GUYS AT LAMOUR'S IN BROOKLYN , I WAS BLOWN AWAY TOTALLY ! I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT HARDCORE MUSIC WAS [no good], AND NOT REALLY METAL ! BUT AFTER HEARING THESE GUYS LIVE THAT NITE , HAD CHANGED MY MIND TOTALLY .. THERE ARE SO MANY HARDCORE BANDS OUT THERE , THAT THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY TO LIST .. BUT '' BIOHAZARD '' IS WHAT HARDCORE IS ALL ABOUT !! THE CD IS FULL OF INTENSITY AND SHEER AGGRESSION ! EVERY SONG IS FULL OF RAGE AND POWER -THAT WILL BE A HARDCORE FAN'S DELIGHT ... SO IF YOU WANT MUSIC THAT IS IN YOUR FACE LIKE A FIST THAN LOOK NO FURTHER .. AND ALSO GET '' URBAN DISCIPLINE '' !! AND '' STATE OF THE WORLD ADDRESS '', FOR A DAY FILLED WITH SOOO MUCH RAGE AS YOU'LL BE KICKING YOUR UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOR'S [rear] TO! MANY PEOPLE MAY SAY A LOTTA BAD STUFF ABOUT BROOKLYN , BUT '' BIOHAZARD '' ISN'T ONE OF THEM . THEY PUT BROOKLYN ON THE MAP OF METAL !! NY/HC STILL RULES!

- the birth of bioharzards reign

upon hearing this cd I was sold that this was something originaland hard in your face music.I love this cd I saw them before the cd release and they were realy great live.the origial cd lacted proper mixing/production but this remaster is much improved I'd like to hear what this cd would sound like with todays recording equipment improvments.this is definity a ground breaking cd but blamed for influenceing limpbikit,Korn, and countless others but they all such.I can live without their rap influence but it work to expand the music some.these guys can really deleiver the goods great breakdowns, hooks and the gang vocals hit you like a mac truck and the subject matter most can relate to.certainly a force to be tacken seriously musical.a must have for hardcore fans not afraid of metal mixed in.

- AND WHEN YA IN BROOKLYN U BESS WATCH YO BACK!!!

This album is the landmark of the heavier sound of NYHC. This is what was responsible for the new skool NYHC sound. Bands like Madball, Sick Of It All, even Vision Of Disorder learned much from these kats. I love the Warriors intro on Wrong Side. This explains to the listener that this is the real deal thug appeal.

- A Great Place To Start For New York's Heavy Music

I started my Biohazard Music Collection in the late '90s with a

cassette (remember them?) of "State of The World Address". I was

quite impressed their muscular arrangements & pounding rhythmns.

The vocal style ranges from growling, to shouting, to multi-voice

chanting. There were probably comparisons to the rap/metal thing

going on at the time, but Biohazard can not be compared to Korn,

Limp Bizkit, or the like. (Note: When Biohazard chooses to add a

rap element to their work they go directly to the source throwin'

down with Onyx or The Mighty Cypress Hill!) Biohazard=New York, its darkside, its "Hardside". This debut(?) from 1990 is a raw, tight, yet not over-polished. It lays the ground work for future masterpieces like "New World Disorder" and "Uncivilization".
