Disco de Biohazard: “Mata Leao”

I was burning "damaged" by Black Flag & wanted to add to the disc.

This is utterly absurd, but this CD works.

My punk rock friends hate my hardcore, maybe Biohazard will open those eyes...

I have been following Biohazard since 1989 before they were signed, and they have only gotten better each album. Just when you think that they can't get any heavier or better, they take the rug out from under you. Mata Leao is their best album yet!!! I'm looking forward to New World Disorder, as Billy tells me it's their heaviest yet.

Biohazard's "Mata Leao", just like a number of other metal albums released in 1996, flew under the mainstream radar and went unnoticed by many. However, while it does not achieve the greatness of Biohazard's classics "Urban Discipline" and "State of the World Address", this is still a very good album by a powerful band. Just as Pantera had done with 1996's "Great Southern Trendkill", Biohazard moved along without compromising to mainstream trends, and continues to pour out pulse pounding metal/hardcore. Songs like "Stigmatized", "Cleansing", "Gravity", "A Lot to Learn", "Waiting to Die" and "In Vain" carry the Biohazard bannar proudly, and while this may not be the band's best offering, it is certainly head and shoulders above quite a few of the other music releases of that year, metal and otherwise. All in all, "Mata Leao" is an underrated and underappreciated album by a very underrated and underappreciated band, and is definitely worth checking out along with the rest of the band's catalog.

I have seen them live twice and have been listening to their music for years. Biohazard kicks.This cut (mata leo) I think is one of the best I have heard.

this album was one of the reasons that made ''me get into a hardcore band. heavy, fast ... makes the audience head banging.
