This is a Good look at Two Classic Rock bands Black Sabbath With Dio on Vocals one of my Favorite Cd's is Heaven and Hell with Dio on the Vocal's and the Blue oyster Cult is also one of the Best Classic Rock bands anyone that is a fan of these bands should enjoy this DVD!
Good video, good sound but what's up with this new price. I got it a year ago from this very webpage for $20-25. The only time I ever saw this was at a midnight madness show at the drive-in and I'm sure it was different than what's on the DVD. It was a long time ago but I'd almost bet money that Veteran of the Psychic wars was on it, a friend swares he remembers another song that's not on the DVD (Black Blade, Joan Crawford?) and neither of us remember "The Marshall Plan" video. I have also read other reviews commenting that this is different from the theaterical version. But still worth it!!
One word: Amazing. I bought this about 2 years ago online for $75.00 plus shipping, tax, etc. I'm sure happy I did. It's now out of print and very rare. It's a Brazilian DVD that combines the very cheesy Blue Oyster Cult concert with an amazing 1980-81 Black Sabbath concert captured live in New York someplace. The DVD quality is surprisingly excellent! Dio is in top form, Tony,Geezer, and Vinnie all are having a blast. (Bill Ward had recently quit the band for personal issues).I literally got goosebumps when they break into 'Heaven and Hell'! I had to overcome a reflex from the 80's to break out my lighter (even though I don't smoke bud anymore)and scream-'Long live Sabbath, man! Dio Rules! Sabbath f###king rules!!') Anyway, the sound quality is also amazing for such a dated concert. This is the only Dio/Sabbath-era concert that is available on DVD( as far as I know) I whole-heartedly reccomend getting this one if you're the die-hard Sabbath fan or Dio fan , as I am. Hit the 'scene-search' on your DVD remote to skip B.O.C.'s embarrassing show.
Sabbath with Dio as vocalist was just getting started-They still had so much more talent to offer.Too bad their egos got in the way. 'Dehumanizer' was an excellent 'Reunion' album for Dio/Sabbath as well. Note- There is a bootleg version of the Sabbath show in Costa Mesa,CA-'92.(On-line somewhere)? Halford stands in for Dio(You know the story-Dio refused to open for Ozzy and quit the band on the spot, poor baby) Legendary bootleg concert. A must to have !
