Disco de Blind Melon: “Live at the Palace”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Blind Melon: Shannon Hoon (vocals); Christopher Thorn (guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica); Rogers Stevens (guitar); Brad Smith (bass guitar, background vocals); Glen Graham (drums).

Recording information: The Palace, Hollywood, CA (1995).

Recorded at the Palace in Hollywood less than two weeks before frontman Shannon Hoon's fatal drug overdose, this 1995 concert finds Blind Melon offering up a set that draws from both of the rootsy alternative-rock band's studio albums--its self-titled debut and SOUP. Although the live songs are a bit more rough-and-tumble than their studio counterparts, largely thanks to Hoon's notably raspy vocals, the recording does showcase some of the group's more delicate moments, particularly "Tones of Home" and the sunny hit single "No Rain."

- Track screwup?!
As review above stated, the track list is completely wrong. This is the worst mistake I've ever seen from a major label, bar none. Great show, tracks are wrong. This would get a 5 star review for the quality of the recording and production, but sheesh, the magnitude of the track errors is so overwhelming it cost it a star.
For anyone who's interested, here's the CORRECT order of the tracks as they appear on the CD:
Galaxie
Toes Across the Floor
Tones of Home
Soup
Soak The Sin
Change
No Rain
Wilt
Vernie
Walk
Skinned
Time

- Thank you Rogers
Non the less, thank you Rogers for the great music you had written. I own some EV and some of Brads great work as well.( Jalopy +) I applaud you for your great talent and wish you well. You and Chris were the best there will be. Thank you for splitting up the stereo guitars. I learn the left and than the right. Four LP's later,I'm still trying to pick it out. Take care and keep it going. No need to appologize. Stay away from cutting the meat man. You need your thumbs.

- 4.5 Stars - Great set - Great Sound - Great Show
The energy and sound quality on this disc are phenomenal. Shannon sounds passionate and the music is tight and crisp as can be. I wanted a longer set with some gems off the debut (I wonder, Holy Man). If like this AMAZING band in any capacity... buy this disc. It totally rocks!

- Blind Melon at their best
Never got a chance to see them live and this cd proves that to be a mistake. The quality is excellent and the songs just seem to come alive. So as Shannon Hoon says, "Try and keep it between the ditches ya'll".
