- Absolute pop-punk classic
1999 was a crazy year. Everyone was getting prepared for Y2K. Everyone was out seeing Star Wars Episode 1, Toy Story 2, and The Sixth Sense. It was a year of popstars (Britney Spears, N*SYNC, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys) and rap-rockers (KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock), but among them came a little punk trio of guys in their mid-20's singing teen anthems along to simple, catchy, energetic music that would inspire hit music for years to come. That band was blink-182, the band that created tons of hits, inspired millions of teens to start bands, and popularized the term "pop-punk", and it all happened with this album.
Enema of The State is now considered a rock classic. From beginning to end, its one of the catchiest, most energetic, melodic, and loudest records ever. The lyrics range from hilarious (The Party Song) to heartfelt (Going Away To College), to a combination of both (Anthem).
Tom's powerchords are the loudest and crunchiest I've ever heard on a pop album, and his lead riffs are some of the simplelest but catchiest I've ever heard, and come on- what kid starting to learn guitar nowadays doesn't try to learn Adam's Song? Vocally his bratty voice fits songs perfect with him taking over the vocals on songs such as Dumpweed, Aliens Exist, Dysentary Gary, All The Small Things, Mutt, and Anthem. Mark plays bass very simply, but his tone is very clean and complements guitar and drums very well. His fills in the bridge of What's My Age Again? are perfect as well. Vocally Mark has a cleaner voice than Tom, which works well on the songs he sings- Don't Leave Me, Going Away To College, What's My Age Again, Adam's Song, The Party Song, and Wendy Clear. That brings us to Travis- but what hasn't been said about this guy already? He's f-ing amazing! His beats are incredibly fast and his fills are timed and calculated spot on. He's definetly got to be one of the greatest drummers of all time.
This record is just a straight up classic. Look at so many of the popular rock bands that emerged in the 2000's- Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Yellowcard, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco... Would any of these bands have been able to achieve so much popularity if blink hadn't kicked the doors of pop-punk wide open? I think not. So whether your just chilling in your room, going on a road trip, or having a pool party- throw this record on and rock out, because it's perfect.

- This is the best cd in the whole wide world!
I first bought the normal , one disc version of Enema of the State a few months ago. I fell in love with it. Then it got stolen, and I was going to order the norm one again. Then I saw this one and thought Hey, why not? I was amazed when it came. Not only does it have all the great tracks from the normal cd, it has bonus live tracks that just Kick Tail. One bad thing: Tom and Mark tend to talk about sex and swear a lot while they're talking in between songs. They're funny, though. This cd is a must for any Blink-182- fan opr just any punk fan. It's worth the dough.

- My Review
Okay, I'll be short and to the point. Although this album is great, I just don't think it lives up to previous albums (namely, Dude Ranch). Sure, they have some great songs on here, such as 'Mutt' and the unstoppable radio hit 'What's my Age Again?', but I can't really listen through the entire CD over and over again. Also, I think a lot of people now are loving the CD just because of the guys' looks, but you have to see beyond that, into the music. I think Dude Ranch is a bit better, but if you really love the bands' music, you should consider this one too. I liked most of the songs on here, but you have to like this sort of music to really appreciate it.
