Bowling for Soup

Disco de Bowling for Soup: “Let's Do It For Johnny!!”

Disco de Bowling for Soup: “Let's Do It For Johnny!!”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Bowling For Soup: Jaret Von Erich, Christopher Van Malmsteen (vocals, guitar); Erik Rodham Clinton (vocals, bass); Gary Wiseass (vocals, drums).
Additional personnel: Matt Slider, Eric Delegard (vocals); Casey Dilorio, Michael England (guitar); Mike Duffy, Joe Cripps (percussion).
Recorded at Reel Time Audio, Denton, Texas.
These Texas power pop punks may describe their music as "Steve Martin meets Cheap Trick on Speed," and they may have adapted stage names like Erik Rodham Clinton and Gary Wiseass (bass and drums, respectively). Still, despite the occasional in-your-face anomaly, like the very funny "Bitch," they're actually no more of a goof than, say, Green Day. The songwriting here is sharp, and, surprisingly, their cover of Bryan Adams' "Summer of '69" is done straight--apparently they simply liked the song. Or perhaps they just appreciate the irony in singing a nostalgic song written by a man who didn't fully experience the period he was writing about. Adams, after all, was only 10 in the summer of '69, wheareas these guys weren't even born yet, in which case their version is in a weird way actually more honest. Feel free to sort this out at your leisure.

- A great second album

I've seen Bowling for Soup in concert 3 times. Each concert is better than the last. This band puts on a great show and really gets the crowd into it. This album is one of the best I have heard from a band that hasn't been around for a while. Every song grows on you till you can sing along with it. I think Bowling for Soup will be a big band because they sound alot like Blink 182 and the other bands that are making their way up the charts but they have a great sound and incredable lyrics. What else can you say about a band whose lyrics say "I sent her flowers and some candy, she opend them up and said your trying to make me fat". By the way Bowling for Soup is playing at my High School, Fossil Ridge so I have the greatest school for a little while.

- BFS kicks it

BFS is a totally awsome band. This is a really good CD. They have a pop-punk sound that is refreshing. The songs are hilarious. If you get a chance go see them in concert. The one I went to was really awsome. The band was cool to hang out with, funny, and personable. They let some friends of mine climb up on stage with them and took song requests. They even chose a special song just so some people could mosh. BFS is the best!!!

- I bowl for any kind of food

A Texas band that knows how to rock out. They even put a country song on there! Very few albums like this where all the songs are good. Check it out! You don't need any bowling skills to listen too it!

- Good songs lousy sound quality

I have a lot of these songs on MP3 128kb and liked them enough to purchase the entire CD

I enjoy their quarky humor and fun lyrics with driving guitar, bass, drums and rhythm.

BFS is a true pop punk band and the songs are a must own for BFS fans

The problem with the CD is the sound quality and production is very disappointing

I bought the CD because I thought the MP3 128kb sampling rate was the reason for the poor sound quality but to my dismay it is the original recording

- an okay CD

This CD is a great CD. Well, it was when it came out in 2000. I purchased this CD after buying the Drunk Enough To Dance CD (2002) and the songs just aren't as cool as the music we have nowadays. But if you're caught in the 90's then you need this CD. I really love this CD but after hearing Drunk Enough To Dance, it's not as good.
