Forever a band without a niche, L.A.'s Buckcherry has never existed in the right place at the right time. When their acclaimed first album was released, Backstreet Boys and N'Sync were coming into their prime and rap rock was the dominant style. But for fans who craved greasy hedonism the likes of which vanished around the time Axl Rose went crazy, Buckcherry was a revelation. Despite label woes, personnel turnover, and singer Josh Todd's brief flirtation with becoming the new Axl, Buckcherry survived and is more successful than ever. BLACK BUTTERFLY doesn't mess with their formula. Todd's lyrics generally deal with intoxication and fornication, and the AC/DC-like crunch that accompanies most of them is perfect for gyrating, but songs like the radio-ready power ballad "Dreams" display a morning-after sobriety that keeps BLACK BUTTERFLY from being one-note.

- The MP3 download is not as good as the CD.
For some reason the 3rd song on this release on the MP3 download is an old Deep Purple cover of Highway Star instead of the song Too Drunk which is on the the CD. Why did this change? - Wish You Could Hate'em but They Are Just Too Damn Good
I have loved these guys for some time now and they seldom disappoint, but I guess I am a bit 'old school' in that I don't need a ton of profanity and vulgarity in my music. Obviously if I am a fan of Buckcherry I am not all that offended but they could tone it down a bit and still be the great rock talent they are now. Just saw their latest video from their website and the music was awesome and the lyrics were filthy. I guess I just hate to have to make moral decisions on my music, we all draw a line out there someplace of what you will tolerate and these talented guys are always on the edge or across it, damn I just wish their music sucked (but it don't :) Great stuff to crank up while driving, should have a warning for speeding tickets while listening :) 7 personas de un total de 10 encontraron útil la siguiente opinión:
- GREAT ALBUM!!
These Los Angeles rockers delivered a great follow up to their platinum 2006 album. With heavy guitars, amazing riffs and unbelievable hooks, Buckcherry puts other rockers to shame. Bad boy frontman Josh Todd, hasn't lost his edge at all and further proves that he has one of the best voices in rock. - Great classic rock!
Few rock CDs sell platinum anymore. Buckcherry's last one did, and this one will too. There's no secret to it. Great songs and a great sound. Classic.
Don't judge this album by Too Drunk. Though Too Drunk is the first single, there are several other songs that are much better.

i cant have enough of this cd and like always i had to buy the fan club edition its a great inclusion into my ever increasing cd collection . nowdays its hard to find a cd worth spenidng $1 but this is a cd that you have to have . its hard n heavy and with real life stories |
