- The Ultimate Collection!!!

I cannot believe no one has yet to review this CD collection!!! Well then, allow me to be the first. I have been a Camel fan for some 30 odd years now. I remember walking into a bar in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Camel was blasting out of the speakers. However, at that time I did not know who they were but I DID like what I heard. Sometime later I walked into my favorite record (that's right! RECORD!!!) store, the proprietor was playing the very same song I heard at that bar. I quickly asked him who that was playing. He sad "Camel." I asked him if he had anything on Camel. He showed me what he had and I bought every album. He then told me that a new album was to be released the following week. So guess what? I was there next week and bought it. It was Camel's LIVE ALBUM. WOW!

30-somethings years pass. I've tried to follow their career with very little success. After 'Pressure Points', I heard nothing from Camel. CDs came around and I wanted to get every single Camel title on CD. Finally I accomplished my goal. Now this CD collection comes along. Oh sure there are quite a few songs that appear on the other CDs but there are also some songs that were recorded for the BBC that appear for the first time. All in all, a great gift for yourself or for that special someone who had never before ever heard of them.

Personally, I love this set.

- A Must Have for any Camel fan

Well, this is my first Amazon review - strange really, considering the amount of music I have purchased from Amazon over the years, and all the reviews I've read that helped me purchase items.

Well - what better way to start, than Camels Rainbows End - The Anthology 1973 - 1985.

I'll keep it brief. Beautifully packaged (book style), 4 CD's and a very informative 38 page booklet with heaps of information on the band and some great pics. The remastering is excellent, cant fault it. The 4CD's are choc full of all that's best about Camel - including some rare and live studio stuff, mostly recorded for the BBC and of course Decca. Each CD contains approx 75 to 80 mins of playing time - just fantastic value. Oh yeh - and the price at the moment - WOW fantastic.

If you're a Camel fan, or even a fan of prog rock - then just buy it. You wont be disappointed.

My one ongoing issue with Amazon though, is their poor packaging of items for their overseas markets. Although this item wasn't damaged as such, the protection offered for the box set was just insufficient for the rigors of overseas shipping. I hope Amazon will take note and try to improve their packaging.
