This week, I’m kicking off the column with the Legacy edition of two 1971 Elvis albums I have never heard, followed by a collection spanning Aretha Franklin’s career from 1980-1998 and a DVD shedding light on The Doors 1971 masterpiece “L.A. Woman.” After that, a release overlooked last year and a reminder of a good one winds things up.

SOPA protests: Southwest Michigan reacts to day of Internet blackouts
Local owners of web-based businesses offer support for protests against proposed anti-piracy laws, S.O.P.A. and P.I.P.A, which protesters say will effectively censor the Internet. Led by former Kyuss members Josh Homme on guitar and bassist Nick Oliveri, QOTSA is filled in nicely by Mark Lanegan and former-Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl.
