Disco de Children of Bodom: “Skeletons in the Closet [U.S. Edition]”

Why in hell would anyone think that just because COB releases an album of covers, that they are going to never make a "Serious" album again. Give the guys a break. I actually think it's kind of refreshing to hear something like this. My favorite cut on the disc has to be "Lookin' Out My Back Door"... The banjo blew me away. Would have been nice to maybe have a few more well known songs. I've never been a big King Diamond fan, but I like the way the covers were done. Way to go COB!

Children of Bodom, on this release, seems like they stole a page from Six Feet Under. while Six Feet Under, however, covers metal songs, Alexi Laiho & company covers rock, metal, punk, country, and (gulp) pop songs. although I hate Britney Spears, I love the way that her song is covered on here. Alexi somewhat sounds like a Finnish version of Alice Cooper. Imagine Alice Cooper covering "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol, and you have the picture. they have "Ghost Riders In the Sky" which they covered on the last studio album on here, and they do a Slayer song too. the members of Slayer say they hate death metal, but I wonder what they think of a melodic death metal band such as Children of Bodom covering one of their songs. I like their cover of Rebel Yell by Billy Idol. this album is lacking an Alice Cooper song, but it is cool anyway.

If you're looking for an album like Hatebreeder or any other of Bodom's works, you're looking in the wrong place. Granted, this is the same band with the same talented members, but clearly these songs are a reflection of guys who are having fun creating light-hearted metal covers of songs not many metal bands would consider covering. Seriously, what are you expecting of a CD with a metal cover of Oops! I Did it Again???

If you like metal, and especially if you like Bodom, I recommend picking this up. Take it for what it is, and you should enjoy it.

well i love children of bodom. great metal band, and i do enjoy cover albums, i think it's a brilliant and amazing part in the life of music. when i saw the songs they covered i knew i had to get this album. they covered ccr! i love them! and anthrax's version of antisocial, i love them too! and pat benetar wtf! hahah you get my point.

if you love bodom, and love the bands they covered, you will love this

don't take it too seriously though, especially with the britany spears cover, i love the cover and i really like this album, and made me appreciate children of bodom a lot more

This band does not have a single bad album. That's right. Every album they've every put out is ridiculous, technical, and brutal, all in their own special ways. This one is no exception, buy it.
