Coheed and Cambria Album: “Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From”
Description :
Coheed & Cambria: Travis Stever (vocals, guitar, lap steel guitar); Claudio Sanchez (vocals, guitar); Josh Eppard (vocals, keyboards, drums); Michael Todd (vocals, bass guitar).

Additional personnel: Janiris Sanchez (spoken vocals); Danny Louis (keyboards); Daniel Sadownick (percussion); Sarah Kathryn Jacobs (background vocals).

Recording information: Applehead Studios, Woodstock, New York (2005).

Ambition has never been a problem for Coheed & Cambria, but with GOOD APOLLO, I'M BURNING STAR IV..., the upstate New York progressive-metal quartet has succeeded in topping its already-adventurous previous outings. While extending its sonic reach, however, Coheed & Cambria has also hit new heights of accessibility, often sounding like a kinder, gentler Mars Volta, with soaringly melodic moments peeking through billowing, dense clouds of driving guitars and breakneck rhythms.

The group eases into GOOD APOLLO with a moody orchestral opening ("Keeping the Blade") and a deceptively benevolent acoustic track ("Always & Never"), before launching into the blisteringly heavy "Welcome Home." As always, frontman Claudio Sanchez carries the dynamic songs, belting out strangely narrative lyrics in his high, clear voice. Although Coheed & Cambria has been loosely categorized as an "emo" band, here the ensemble fully outgrows that tag, joining an elite company of inventive metal acts (like the aforementioned Mars Volta) that are determined to challenge and fascinate listeners.

- Worth the extra money or the re-purchase
If you're reading this review you already know that Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness is a 5 star completely amazing CD. The CD is phenomenal and I've already written a review of that, so this review is going to be about the bonus DVD that accompanies this CD.
The bonus DVD is well worth the money, and that's what I have to say! The videos for "The Suffering" and "Welcome Home" are cool enough, but all the bonus material on this DVD is awesome. The best part is the behind the scenes of the making of Good Apollo. There is some excellent funny and enlightening footage of the band as they wrote and recorded this awesome CD, and that footage in and of itself is worth the price of admission.
The Favor House Atlantic movie....um....has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen! It's really just Travis walking around to all of the other band members asking them if they think Good Apollo is going to be a good album, but it's definitely hilarious to watch the antics and everything that takes place as he goes around doing it. From Claudio singing about "incense and flowers," to Mike "wrecking" as he falls into the kitchen. For some reason there are bloopers, but the movie itself is basically a blooper of the band, and it's great.
And the animated vignettes definitely have a very epic and awesome feel to them as they place the albums songs over animated versions of Christopher Shy's amazing album artwork.
This is a very cool and worthy purchase for any and every Coheed fan.
- Great Album
Exelent album one step more in the evolution of this great group, Coheed & Cambria one of the best new band in prog rock
- one of the best
this cd is awesome. all the music these days sucks. these guys do not. i tend to shy away from new music, but these guys really have a classic quality to them. every song is good. this album is proof that green day hasn't totally ruined the landscape of music. coheed and cambria should be the next journey. buy it!!!

- Coheed & Cambria = Best Actual Band
Ok... lets start by this... any other good band on 2007??? ehm... NO!! only system of a down were good but theyre on hiatus, serj tankian album rocks also but hes not a band ... so... Coheed is the only good band still alive , or making new good stuff (cuz some legends still live, but release compilations or bad albums) so lets go to this album
The first C&C song i heard was "Welcome Home" amazing guitar work!! so i decided to give them a try, it was awesomeeeeee! and then "The Suffering" and went trough "Ten Speed" so i said "i have to buy the album" so i saved whole "willing well" and some song for the day i got the album. It was an awesome experience and GREAT artwork!! :) so go out and listen to those 3 songs and youll want the album. Also get Vol.2 No World For Tomorrow, that one with this one make a great combo.
