- Simply Fantastic, and I Don't Really Like Concerts

I originally caught this on UHD or some similar channel on DirecTV. As stated in the title, I don't usually watch or even enjoy concerts. Most have poor sound or the artists don't put on the type of show that I want to see. That is not the case with this one at all.

Since I'm a fan of Collective Soul, I decided to watch this concert on TV. From the moment it starts with the director and the orchestra, I could tell it was going to be something a little different. And boy, was I right. What followed was one of the best looking and sounding concerts that I've ever sat through. I never would have believed that they could integrate the band with the orchestra in a way that I'd really enjoy. But they did. And they did it wonderfully.

This was definitely an amazing production. I commend everyone who played a part in putting this together. They took some of my favorite music and fused it with an orchestra in a way that I never expected, and it just plain worked.

So of course I had to order it on Blu-ray. This one is definitely worth it.

- Collective Soul Blu-Ray

I purchased the Home DVD in 2006-amazing. I just received my Blu-Ray version today-exceeded my expectations! For a true Collective Soul fan who could not attend the taping in Atlanta, this is the next best thing to "being there!" Favorite songs on Blu-Ray: Listen, Pretty Donna, Youth

- A must have for any Collective Soul and/or music fan!

I must admit this is one of the best purchases I have made in recent memory. Collective soul is at their best in this gig, and having a fantastic orchestra join the show just blows it out of the park. Did I mention that this is a "youth" orchestra? I couldn't tell the difference between a youth and a adult orchestra in this blu-ray, and their sound is top notch. The camera work and sound is amazing, and I have already watched it repeated times with friends and family because it is directed and scored so well. In fact, I liked it so much, I have purchased the CD of "Home" as well. Collective Soul is a band I have been a fan of for a long time. I feel they should have multiple grammy's in their trophy cabinet, and I know their music will be enjoyed by many generations yet to come. Keep up the good work guys, and I look forward to your next albumn!

- Cool

Collective Soul is cool. Having never seen the band before this blu-ray concert, I describe some of the songs as having a religious Christian influence, especially on the song, "Shine," probably their most familiar song. With that noted, Collective Soul definitely is a rock group, with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra adding a certain classical element to their rock songs.

- Blu-ray review

I recently upgraded my home audio system to accomodate playback of high bitrate tracks from blu-ray. I was dissapointed to discover a weaker vocal recording on the blu-ray. While the overall sound stage was much larger and more detailed, it ended up drowning out much of Ed Roland's vocals. Downmixing the audio restored the vocals to the proper level but sacrificed some of the detail I expect in a blu-ray. I had this HD concert recorded on my DVR almost two years before the blu-ray release so I can't help but to think the original dolby-digital or down-mixed recording has the intended levels. I will probly listen to the regular DD track and switch to DD-HD for the predominantly orchestral sections. This concert is otherwise amazing and I had been meaning to replace it eversence I lost my DVR.
