Frontman Dani elaborated on the track:
"Lyrically the track 'Enshrined In Crematoria' is hilted in the legendary Ark Of The Tragedian, the poet's Holy Grail. It is the author's inspiration personified as a tombed angel, much like that of Poe's pale obsession, and the magickal 'midnight' ritual wherein she is conjured forth as a reincarnation of his lost love, to provide forbidden artistic sustenance. It is imagination's utter peak and fuel for a literal literary madman. 'Enshrined In Crematoria' is at essence the first of guitarist Richard Shaw's contributions to the new album, before the full band took it by the teeth and spat it into light."

'Hammer Of The Witches' was brought to fruition in Britain’s Witch County, in darkest rural Suffolk at the reputedly haunted Grindstone Studios. The album’s title is named after the ‘Malleus Maleficarum’, a medieval document of guidelines regarding the persecution and torture of witches - but Cradle Of Filth’s title version is more retributory: It’s the Hammer Of The Witches; the hammer is in the witches' hands and it's payback time.

Aktuella med nya albumet ”Hammer of Witches” beger sig Cradle of Filth ut på turné – den 19 november kommer de till Sticky Fingers i Göteborg och 23 november kör de på Debaser Strand i Stockholm!

Det brittiska bandet har varit aktiva sedan 1991 och har hunnit släppa hela 10 album. Den 10 juli släpps det elfte albumet, ”Hammer of the Witches”, och efter det åker bandet ut på turné.
I subgenren ”extreme metal” är Cradle of Filth ett av de allra största namnen. De sex bandmedlemmarna har uppträtt världen över och är bekanta namn på stora festivaler som Ozzfest, Download och Sziget Festival.

Med sångaren Dani Filth i spetsen släpper de snart det efterlängtade albumet ”Hammer of the Witches” – ett album som redan producerat den hyllade singeln och videon ”Right Wing of the Garden Triptych”. Skivan är också det första släppet med den nya gruppkonstellationen, där Marek ’Ashok’ Šmerda och Richard Shaw kommit in på gitarr (så att man nu kan använda sig av dubbla gitarrer) och Lindsay Schoolcraft introduceras på keyboard/sång.
November lär bli riktigt hårt och svettigt - med Cradle of Filth!

Er zijn weinig Britse metalbands zo belangrijk als Cradle Of Filth. Begin jaren negentig klinkt de groep rond de charismatische frontman Dani Filth als een pure – en verdomd goede - blackmetal band, maar gaandeweg worden daar andere extreme muzikale elementen aan toegevoegd. Overladen met een theatrale saus en een horror/gothic-imago wordt Cradle Of Filth sindsdien misschien wel uitgespuwd door de trve kvlt blackmetal fans, maar groeien ze buiten die scene toch uit tot een zeer geliefde metalband.

‘The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh’ (1994) en ‘Cruelty & The Beast’ (1998) blijken moderne klassiekers en mede dankzij de choquerende merchandise (wie herinnert zich niet de ‘Jesus is a cunt’-shirtjes?) bereikt Cradle Of Filth ook de mainstream. Inmiddels is de groep toe aan het elfde studioalbum dat deze zomer verschijnt. Op ‘Hammer Of The Witches’ klinkt Cradle Of Filth nog steeds vitaal, relevant en bovendien spijkerhard. Een nieuw album betekent een nieuwe tournee, maar wie de band deze keer live wil zien, moet wel naar 013 komen; het optreden is de enige stop in Nederland.
