May 10, 2012 Music preview: Cursive
Songwriter Tim Kasher, center, draws inspiration from his screenwriting projects. A band like Cursive can be hard to keep up with.
Apr 14, 2012 Rock band Cursive writes a good story
Tim Kasher loves a good story. The frontman for the rock collective known Cursive has designed musical novellas on recordings including 2000's Domestica and 2003's The Ugly Organ. The themes are often dark, restless and even a little depraved.
Apr 14, 2012 Monday To-Do: Cursive
Cursive plays Revolution Monday night. CURSIVE 8 p.m. Revolution. $12 adv., $14 d.o.s. Probably it's fair to say that Cursive 's latest disc, "I Am Gemini," confounded more than a few of the band's longtime fans. It's a convoluted concept album (but aren't they all?) about twin brothers named Cassius and Pollock, one good, one evil, who were separated at birth but are reunited in a creepy old ...
Apr 11, 2012 Preview: Cursive, Cymbals Eat Guitars at Trees
Expect a few angular pop nuggets from Cursive's oeuvre, including Domestica, The Ugly Organ and Happy Hollow, as the Omaha band unveils material from their latest semi-concept record, I Am Gemini. Mar 27, 2012 Cursive performs in The Current studios
Cursive is a true genre-definer. The Omaha-based band has explored a post-hardcore sound and its fringes since the mid '90s, a precursor to what would become popular in the years to come. Longtime members of Saddle Creek Records (Bright Eyes, Land of Talk), they're back with their seventh release "I Am Gemini," a highly conceptual affair which still manages to pull in new listeners alongside ...
Mar 27, 2012 Conduits
Conduits by Mark Keresman Are you feeling nostalgic for the hazy, angst-laden aspects of late-Eighties and Nineties indie rock? Here's just the thing: Omaha band Conduits, which evolved from Son Ambulance, Cursive, and Eagle Seagull, among others, will fill the raging hole in your soul.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments on this story ]

Mar 21, 2012 Cursive sticks with the concept of hit, myth
There aren't going to be any hit singles on Cursive's new album, "I Am Gemini." Chances are the band from Omaha won't get too much airplay except on the most experimental and open-minded of radio stations. And releasing a concept album based on the myth of Castor and Pollux? That's so 1970s. It's also what Cursive does.
