- Musique mix 2006.

This is a basic mix of Daft Punk. Over the years... if you've heard it, but never owned one, this is a great starter CD into a new world. I recommend watching "Interstella 5555" this will explain everything. Its on youtube. then buy them all as you fall in LOVE.. other then that- there's a lot of the same songs here as on all the other cds combined.

- Da Finest!!!

If you're like me, you've already got everyone of these tracks and remixs on Daft Punk's various albums, DVD's & singles. So you ask yourself "Why should I buy this album when I've already got all these tracks?" Well, with this collection you get the best of DP's tracks all on one disc. Whether you've been a fan like me over the years, or if you've just discovered them this collection definately does the Punk's right. This CD/DVD will make a worthy entry in anyones collection. Even if you don't think you know Daft Punk, I can almost garuntee that you do. With tracks like "Around The World", "Da Funk", "One More Time" & the now just as classic "Human After All" it's a safe bet you've heard them at least once in your life time before.

- Just Buy Their Full Lengths..

Daft Punk are a great electronic group who have taken their influences and combined them into some truly trend-setting albums. Though, if you subtract the live albums, the bootlegs, Daft Club *shudder*, and the anime movie.. all you've got is three studio albums. Just three. And the first two are full masterpieces, while Human After All is more or less tolerable depending on the listener. Definitely more of a Kraftwerk and Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music" influence than the other two LPs.

Anyway, you're looking at 30+ tracks they've produced that are more than worth owning.. yet they feel the need for a compilation album? Hopefully it wasn't their idea, probably some greedy music execs who realized they couldn't ride out the fumes of Discovery for much longer. Still, I wouldn't even suggest this cd for Daft Punk newbies as they'd have more fun overall with Discovery. I mean, heck, Face to Face isn't even on here and that's probably their greatest song ever! They could have easily switched Face to Face out with Something About Us since the latter isn't the greatest track.

You owe it to Daft Punk, and yourself, to just buy their three proper albums, decide which songs you like or not, and make your own compilation. It's easy enough to buy the 'rare' tracks later on off of itunes if you really feel the need to further butcher the idea that compact discs and Vinyl are outdated. (I'll never give up my CD's NEVER!)

5 stars for (most of the music), 2 stars for the rest of the music and the crappy attempt at cashing in which I'm sure worked.

- The Videos Make It Worth It

I am the worlds biggest Daft Punk Fan. Having all thier previous work, even the 'hard to find' stuff, this CD was of no use to me other than for nostalgic purposes... that is until I learned of this edition, which includes a special DVD with all of thier music videos to date. Right there I knew I had to own this gem. Worth the buy for the unique videos, especially Around The World.

I do have to point out that the quality of the video could have been better, as I have seen Daft Punk music videos on DVD (like the collection of video from Micheal Gondry) that were higher quality, so I know it isnt the video itself, but none the less its only something a videophile would really notice.

- Daft Punk Classic

A great Daft Punk album with a good variety of their music. This compilation is proof of how truly awesome Daft Punk can be!
