- True Norwegian Black Metal

I like that Nocturnal CultO and FenriZ decided to wait and release this great black metal album after Total Death.

It does show some death metal influences too (As Desertshadows and Virgin Sin show it most). Yet another great release from Darkthrone and Moonfog Records (why not PeacevillE if it was early stuff tho?)

- Amazing

This is one of the most dark, and sick work of darkthrone in my opinion, real true dirty satanic Black Metal, wonderful disc!

Cheers!

- Yet another solid Darkthrone album

I find this to be one of my favorite DT records. It seems to have just a bit more character than some of the other albums due to its ugly sound. Of course i like all the other DT albums, but this one just keeps finding its way into my cd player. You know what to expect as far as production goes on a DT album, and here it gets even rawer and more low-fi...which is kinda cool for me...it sounds like a good demo, maybe recorded with just one or two room mics...cool artwork and packaging as well

- Good Lord...

Man, I was totally unprepared for what I was about to experience when I bought this. Instead of the breakneck speed we know and love them for, we have more of a doom and gloom sound here. Ghosts and hooded droids come to mind when hearing this album. I give this 4 stars because this album marked a transitional shift from death metal to unholy black metal that they're more famous for. Be sure to light candles in the dark and meditate while listening to this.
