Penn Badgley's Photo Shoot Reveals That Starving Artists Have Killer Abs
Penn Badgley may claim not to have much classical acting training, but he certainly knows how to pose mournfully for the camera. The "Gossip Girl" cutie, who plays Dan Humphrey on the CW show, made like a struggling New York actor/Calvin Klein magazine ad in this photo shoot that has him lounging around on a bare mattress. I think this might actually be the first time I haven't solely referred to him as the "Dashboard Confessional-lead-singer-clone" so congrats, Penn, on having had created your own identity with me. According to Badgley, he believes that all the training in the world can't make up for real-life experience, when it comes to acting. "I don't think it matters what you studied, I think working is the best training," is what the 21-year-old had to say on the subject. And with these monochromatic pix of the actor in front of me, I have to say that he's also still in the running toward becoming America's Most Prettiest Boy.

The "Gossip Girl" Boys Are Prince and The Revolution
The boys of "Gossip Girl" showed up to TRL the other day, looking all friendly and stuff. Chace looks cute and all, but the facial hair is quite jarring against his perfect, youthful features. It's a bit too "hot Abraham Lincoln" for me. And the young Dashboard Confessional-looking kid who they're trying to pass off as the not as fortunate underdog is actually the cutest of the bunch in my opinion. And, I have no idea how we managed to get a photograph of Lestat here, all the way to the left, since it's supposed to be impossible to get pictures of vampires, right? Either that, or kids these days are feeling nostalgic and dressing like Prince. Is that what's going on? I'm so old and out of touch.

Blake Looks Lively on the Set of "Gossip Girl"
On the set of The CW's hit series, "Gossip Girl," the young, fresh-faced albeit appropriately cynical stars of the show have gathered on the steps of a school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The Golden Girl of "Gossip Girl," Blake Lively looked care-free and even a bit goofy as she laughed while having her microphone wired through her jacket and enjoyed some posing for the cameras with a production assistant, who was probably happy for a respite from all the coffee she's usually fetching. But, of course, my favorite shot of the bunch is of Blake enjoying on on-screen kiss with Dashboard Confessional lead singer look-alike, Penn Badgley, Lively's on-screen love interest.

"Gossip Girl" Coming Back for Second Season
Did you guys enjoy "Gossip Girl" in its first season? Well, for those of you who did, I have good news--it's coming back for a second season on the CW and is the first series to get its hot little hands on a full-season renewal. Yay! (This is me doing little fist-pumps of happiness, since it has become one of my cheesy, guilty pleasures, bookended by the slightly cheesier, but less guilty pleasure of "America's Next Top Model.") From Variety:
"People everywhere are talking about 'Gossip Girl,' and we believe this show will continue to build audience as it builds buzz," CW president of entertainment Dawn Ostroff said.
Oh good for Dashboard Confessional clone boy and blonde girl--I don't know their names, in case you haven't noticed. But it's nice to see that the hole left in our hearts from the departure of "The O.C." can start to be filled with mindless, teenaged entertainment goodness.
