Devo Album: “Greatest Hits”
Description :
Devo: Mark Mothersbaugh (vocals); Bob Mothersbaugh, Bob Casale (guitar); Gerald V. Casale (bass); Alan Myers (percussion).

Producers: Roy Thomas Baker, Brian Eno, Devo, Ken Scott, Robert Margouleff.

Compilation producers: Kathie Duba-Noland, Gerald V. Casale, Mark Mothersbaugh.

Recorded between 1979 & 1990.

In 1990, Warner Bros., issued a two-volume compilation titled GREATEST HITS and GREATEST MISSES (each sold separately), which contained material from all six of the band's albums from 1978 through 1984. For the casual fan looking to dig further than just "Whip It," GREATEST HITS is a highly recommended purchase. Although considered a joke band by some, Devo has proven to be one of the more musically valid bands from the new wave era, influencing many notables along the way (Trent Reznor, Henry Rollins, Kim Thayil, Kurt Cobain, etc.).

Nearly an hour in length, GREATEST HITS contains nearly all of Devo's best tracks from over the years; "Girl U Want," "Satisfaction," "That's Good," "Through Being Cool," "Freedom of Choice," and of course, "Whip It." Also featured is a remarkable cover of "Working In The Coalmine" (previously only available on the HEAVY METAL SOUNDTRACK), plus such key album tracks as "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA," "Gut Feeling" and "Gates of Steel." What more could a spud want?
