- Great audio, great song selection, average video quality

This dvd is not bad at all. Sure the video could have been better but this is probably the only dvd you will find the band play electric on. The songs from Dysfunctional sounded better on this than the studio versions. In fact the band sounds better on here than most other versions I have heard. The harmonies are great, Don hits those high notes and George Lynch plays Mr Scary live along with Mick and Jeff being really into the songs and not just playing along. I admit you can tell George Lynch is not into this one like in the past. I have read this was more of a business tour for him and doing it as a job more than as a band effort. At the end of the concert the band go one way and he goes the other. But being that it is George Lynch the playing is going to be good just not inspired.

This is somewhere in the middle of Beast From The East and the newest Live dvd Live From The Sun. The audio is great, video is ok and the song selection was very good. Like many I wish they would play Burning Like A Flame live but have heard that Don has a very hard time with that one and it is not likely you will hear this in any version other than the studio version.

Overall this is an essential dvd for the Dokken listener.

- Bore me ... bore you

After watching this I'm glad I didn't spend the money to buy this DVD. Don looks totally bored and sleep walks through his performance. He can barely hit any of the high notes. George starts off missing a bunch of notes on the first few songs. I guess he didn't warm up or maybe he's taken too many steroids to play properly. He doesn't even look at anybody during his whole performance. And what is up with the shiny pants? There's hardly any interaction between band members. Jeff and Mick are the only two that entertain the mostly bored audience. If I were at that concert, I'd asked for me money back. The video and audio quality are ok but it's nothing to write home about. Save your money unless you really have to have it. I'd give it less than a star if I could.

- Dokken Live-Disappointing

This concert dvd is lacking in quality and intensity. The picture quality is poor, while the the audio is pretty good. At first I was disappointed that they didn't show George Lynch playing very much, but I can understand it now because the guy is just not into it. He doesn't look up from his guitar once in the concert. This dvd is just for diehard Dokken fans only-maybe.

- This DVD is a major disappointment

As a big fan of Dokken, I always buy their cd's, etc. as soon as they come out. They're one of the few bands whose records/dvd's I purchase before I even hear the material as I know from experience, I will end up liking...not this time however. I was so excited to get this DVD off the Dokken.net Website as well as the accompanying cd. That feeling of excitement quickly wore off as I began watching it as I was VERY disappointed in the sound and picture quality. It was as if a fan shot this (bootleg). Not to mention, they didn't even play the strongest song from the Dysfunctional LP-Too High To Fly. What's up with that?!?! They release that as their first single and then don't even have it on this DVD/cd?!?! Live from the Sun was an inspired, well-produced live DVD-one of the best that I own (I have a lot of music DVD's). I recommend that, giving that a 5 stars (Reb's solo in Too High To Fly is simply awesome!). I do NOT recommend Live in '95, even to the hardcore Dokken fan because you will feel cheated and ripped off...I know I do. Don, I hope this review reaches you.

- Dokken rocks Tokyo

I was really wondering what to expect, as I had read some reviews of this DVD that were very down on it. I had read that the picture quality was blurry, and the sound quality was muddy. When I watched it, I was pleasantly surprised. No, it's not perfect. It's not as crisp as "Live from the Sun". If you want perfection for your HD system, get "Live from the Sun". But, this one is still pretty dang good, and has George Lynch on guitar. I don't know of any other DVD that has the classic Dokken lineup doing a full bore electric concert. ( "One Live Night" is cool, but is sort of "unplugged"). I really enjoyed this DVD, warts and all, because this is rock and roll, and at this show, they really rocked!!
