- Gran obra musical

- At this price, it's a STEAL. GET IT NOW!!!

I bought this single CD (20 new songs, + 4 English translation throwaways)in NY when it was first released. Aside from the disposable 4 English songs, this album is a classic: NO DUDS! On a trip to Spain in 1996, I saw that the Spanish release indeed contained 30 songs, but the price (in pesetas to dollars) at the time was too high (over $45 USD) so I skipped it. This year (2007) I saw the 30 song double CD on sale at zona de compras (Google them) for some ridiculous price like $8 + $15 shipping, and I bought it immediately. The CDs arrived promptly, and upon listening to the entire album I realized that the folks at Sire/Warner Brothers did us all a favor by cutting out the bad, badly recorded, and disposable songs from the 30 song album. There is not one good song in the 10 that are not on the US release, that would make me say that it was worth the price paid for the 2 CD set. If you still feel you must have it, as I did, to complete your collection, by all means go ahead, and order it online. But soon you will see that the "missing" songs you get are - for the most part - not worth a second listen. And the sequence of the songs is different between the two releases. I highly treasure my US release. It's a shame that it's been priced so low when weaker albums from the same group are priced higher. I highly recommend this album. It was recorded in England with better sound, better staff, better songwriting, and they no longer sound like a crappy subway band anymore. Like the Beatles, they took the money from their initial album sales, and invested it on improving their sound and quality. And on this album, it shows. Recommended.

- It's not all there!

Interestingly enough, I first bought this album on tape in Spain, 1990 just after it first came out. It was a double tape set and contained 30 songs on it. I buy this, it has only 20 songs and 4 questionably translated and sung English versions of songs. Must be the international version?!

Despite this, however, Duncan Dhu always produce consistently high quality songs. While nothing may be chart busting, at the same time no song is so terribly questionable. They are such a consistent group in their songwriting, that I know any new albums will be worth the purchase price. Too many artists or groups produce an album with 3 or 4 high quality songs, and the rest not up to the same standard. Not Mikel and Diego.

Que pena que no escriben juntos todavia!
