It is possibly misleading to call Enslaved for an institution within Norwegian metal, all the time concept in cultural context carries with it a notion that something is set and often have their most creative years behind. Enslaved has never rested on a winning formula and has always had the intent to challenge both themselves and the listener when they have written new music. But if we are to summarize Norwegian metal history and its international appeal, there is no doubt that Enslaved plays a crucial role both as a genre spearhead and bridge the past 20 years.

The band is appropriate with its thirteenth plate, 'In Times' (on sale from March 6), and once again fiver gang laid out all the stops to challenge conventions. It is monumental, melodic, hard, intricate and catchy interchangeably. The progressive elements in other words, well cared for, while the band showcase new and old aspects of themselves.

The song 'Thurisaz Dreaming' can already be heard at various flow services and tells clearly that Enslaved is a band to be reckoned with, soon 24 years into their career.

Det er muligens misvisende å kalle Enslaved for en institusjon innen norsk metal, all den tid begrepet i kulturell sammenheng bærer med seg en forestilling om at noe er satt og gjerne har sine mest kreative år bak seg. Enslaved har aldri hvilt på en vinnerformel og har alltid hatt det som forsett å utfordre både seg selv og lytteren når de har skrevet ny musikk. Men om man skal oppsummere norsk metal-historie og dens internasjonale appell, er det ingen tvil om at Enslaved spiller en avgjørende rolle både som sjangerspydspiss og brobygger de siste 20 årene.

Bandet er aktuelle med sin trettende plate, "In Times" , og nok en gang har femmerbanden lagt seg i selen for å utfordre konvensjonene. Det er monumentalt, melodiøst, hardt, intrikat og fengende om hverandre. De progressive elementene er med andre ord godt i varetatt, samtidig som bandet får vist frem både nye og gamle sider ved seg selv.

Albumet har fått strålende anmeldelser både i norsk og internasjonal musikkpresse. Her hjemme er det blitt terningkast fem Aftenposten og BT, mens VG og BA har kvittert ut terningkast seks! Klikk her for en oversikt over hva musikkpressen ute i verden skriver om "In Times".

Låten "Thurisaz Dreaming" kan allerede høres på diverse strømmetjenester og forteller med all tydelighet at Enslaved er et band å regne med, snart 24 år ut i karrieren.

Gjengen gjorde en fantastisk konsert foran et kokende USF Verftet før jul i fjor. Nå skal suksessen gjentas, 3. oktober inviterer bergensbandet til feiring av nytt og gammelt.

Dette skjer på tampen av et hektisk turnéår, noe som borger for et band i storform.
