- These Guys are already Rock Stars
This cd brings back the hard rock type of sound from Sparkle and fade, with it's soft points.I can't tell you one song on that album that I don't like. Many songs are hard rock like All F**ked Up and Rock Star. Songs on this cd are also soft like Song From An American Movie pt.2 and Short Blonde Hair, which gives this cd a good mix that would please everbody.

- Refreshingly Good
When you finish listening to the American Movie Part 1 you feel good inside and when you finish Part II you feel pumped up. The lyrics of Part I definently came across stronger but the tenacious approach on Part II is a good change. Closing out the last song of the album with the intro to Part I is an excellent touch. I believe Part I was better but Part II is still a great CD.

- Great c.d
All songs are great especially All F***ked up. Some of the songs sound alike, but I like the way it sounds. Everclears best c.d definitely. Better than their old junk. Great rock c.d. Don't be discouraged by songs from an American movie vol. 1. This c.d is much better, and is a lo more like rock.
- Awesome
More often than not you listen to song and like it based on whether you relate to whats being said. 99% of the time this can be a very tenuous link based on the experiences that we all have had from time to time relationships, "" jobs, parent trouble drug abuse etc etc.
Art`s lyrics more than anyone I`ve ever heard sum up these experiences with quite simply the most amazing clarity, his observations are always spot on and the music accompanies his sentiments exactly. He does miss occasionally but for that I will forgive him because when he gets it right, I`m right there with him. I have loved all of Everclear's material and in some instances find it difficult to listen to some of their past work based on the emotions and memories that are evoked when played. The reason I have chosen to review this particular album is for the closing song "...american movie pt II" As ever the other songs are solid and in some cases genius, but at the present time I cannot listen to the last song without my bottom lip starting to tremble, without agreeing with every word he has to say, without welling up... Most of all, through all the confusion, all the lows, all the highs coming out the other side with a gigantic smile (having had to learn it)on my face. Continuing to look for the good in the world rather than letting it all get me down. This song is THAT good.
As ever not everyone will relate to what Everclear are all about but if your a young, still trying to find your way and looking for a bit of sound advice you really should listen to what Art and his crew have to say. It will certainly make those thoughtful moments alone more bearable.

- Pretty Good
Well, this CD is clearly better than Vol 1 LHTS. That was too poppy, and the only standout song on that CD is "Wonderful". But this CD is much better. The first song, "When It All Goes Wrong Again", is a contrasting song to the first real song of LHTS, "Here We Go Again". "Babytalk" is a good song, and "Rock Star" is the second-best song. I really don't like "Short Blonde Hair" and "Misery Whip" too much. "Out of My Depth" is by far the best song on here, and my favorite. "Good Witch of the North" isn't that good. "Halloween Americana", the music song, is okay, but not great. "All F***ed Up" has great music, the fast pace is very nice. Only if the lyrics were better..."Overwhelming" belongs on LHTS; its a wimpy-poppish song. The last track, "Songs From an American Movie Pt. 2", is much better than its predecessor. It sounds nice, and has some good music. So overall, this CD is pretty good.
