Mel C’s a mum!

With everything else that’s been going on in the world of celebrities this weekend, we’d forgotten that Mel C was due to pop – and pop she did, on Sunday afternoon. Melanie and her boyfriend Thomas Starr have welcomed a baby daughter, Scarlett Starr, into the world. According to an announcement on the former Spice Girl’s official website, Scarlett was born at 4.10pm yesterday weighing 8lb 3oz. The statement said that she’s “a beautiful little girl” and that “mum and baby are doing fine”. So, it’s official – all of the Spice Girls are now sprogged up, and that makes us feel very old indeed. Congratulations Mel!

There are some stars who we cannot relate to at all (Mariah Carey springs to mind…) but there are some who are just like us – especially when they get totally overwhelmed by their fame and come out with just the sort of nonsense that we would if we were in their situation. Not only is Adele an ace singer, but she’s also such a normal girl… a normal girl who just so happens to have been given a photoshoot in Vogue! “I went to go do my final fitting for the shoot,” she said in an interview on US TV (get her!). “Then Anna Wintour wanted to meet me, so I was waiting in the hallway. It was just like The Devil Wears Prada. It was amazing. I was really frightened and I went in and she was so nice. She was like: 'What labels do you like?' I was trying to make up these designers that I was quite sure I had read in Vogue or something before.” Hee hee. And she doesn’t stop there. “I wear dresses with tights and flat shoes and a cardigan,” she says. “But I am going to get my boobs out and everything. It's going to be quite a big deal.” And we, for one, can’t wait to see it! Hasn’t she done well?

Heath Ledger’s Wacky Uncles Won’t Let Love-Child Story Die

The possibility was raised by one of Heath's press-happy uncles. There was a bunch of confusion for a couple of days, and then today two interviews appeared that should have cleared everything up. OK! spoke with the woman (and her husband), and they swear it's not true — and even offered to undergo a DNA test. But that's not enough for Heath's uncles — another one of them gave an interview to Us Weekly today calling the love child story "berserk," but still refusing to rule it out. "I really feel for the little girl that’s in the middle of this, and my thoughts are with her and her alone," explained Heath's uncle Mike. "The little girl is the most important thing in the whole thing." Is she? Or is it the paychecks you get for exclusive interviews with celebrity magazines, unc? ‘Gossip Girl’ Gets an Actual New Yorker!

Brooklyn-born Michelle Trachtenberg has taken on the Gossip Girl role that Mischa Barton so unwisely passed over: that of Georgina Sparks, the bad girl "who rolls into Manhattan from rehab, shaking up and torturing the life of Serena van der Woodsen." Trachtenberg has been working since practically the day she popped out of the womb: She's been in everything from Clarissa Explains It All to Six Feet Under, but we (as well as probably the entire staff at Knopf) remember her as the girl who shook up and tortured Ann Packer's The Dive From Clausen's Pier when she played the main character in the Lifetime movie last year. Bill O’Reilly: Arianna Huffington Is a Bad, Bad Girl Who Needs to Be Punished

Sure, the commenters there are batshit, but leaving aside the whole first amendment thing, what about the commenters on Post Web site, where O'Reilly's column regularly appears? What about the comments you know, in the Post. But lo, soon enough we find out what's reallygot Bill so excited.
