- Good collection

For sure, I must recommend to buy all the original albums including remixes, but this is because I love Faithless.

If you are not a Faithless fan, but you like electronic music, you must have this album. This compilation is very well done, you get the best and buying it you'll not be disappointed.

- Great Flow of Sounds

I rarely listened to music due to my hard of hearing. But, when one day someone recommended me to see Faithless' "Bombs" video, I was taken back and surprised at the flow of the music in the mentioned video. Indeed, I became attracted to his music.

So, I came upon this "The Greatest Hits" and I could not stop listening to it. From this set, my favorite songs are:

- Insomnia

- God is a DJ

- Why Go

- Great music, but useless to me because I couldn't listen to it in Windows Music Player

I guess I'm on the leading edge or something, but I have all my music ripped to MP3s which I listen to with Windows Music Player. I travel a lot for work and this is better than bringing CDs around with me. I could not rip this CD to MP3s (there was no mention on the CD of this fact). I also could not play it using the Windows Media Player, despite what they say on the box. I'm also pretty sure this means I can't listen to this music on my phone (Nokia 6630 which plays MP3s).

This would be worth buying just for "God is a DJ" and "Bring my family back", if only I could actually listen to them! I'm returning this.

- Beautiful opera lady-who are you????!!!

uh...this isn't so much a review as it is an inquiry to other Faithless fans, given that I do love Faithless enjoy both the original versions and mixes of their work. So, can anyone tell me who was the compelling opera singer who precluded a very loungy and sentuous rythmn that had no other lyrics in it? Of course, I don't know the name of the song, or what album it's from (some fan I am), but I think more hardcore fans will know that of which I speak(write). If you require a little more info, there were nature sounds in the background of her beginning solo (birds chirping etc.,) I am dying to find out who this person is, and what other collaborations she has been involved in. Hopefully, she's not some dead opera chick who missed out on the boundary breaking evolution of acid jazz, that is Faithless. [...]

- A good collection - I'd have loved the *original* Insomnia, though...

I was all happy to buy this collection of Faithless, and it's a very good one.

Still, I really find it hard to deal with getting ONLY the 8'42 minutes 'Monster Mix' version of 'Insomnia'... which I find so much more powerful in its *dry*, *compact*, more *subtle* 3'35 version! Am I the only one feeling this way?

It's likely that a majority of people won't have any complain about this mix obviously made for clubbing, probably will never have heard 'Insomnia' any differently.

A friend has the vinyl version of what i call the 'original'. It's nowhere to be found, neither on the numerous albums nor on the singles available here on amazon. I only know for sure that the "short and dry" version I favor exists because the video of it is featured on YouT**** ! [If you're interested: just add watch?v=LuqEbRzy_t8 after ....com/ ;-) ]

I heard that version first and instantly was as overpowered as so may others - but I wasn't in a club and dancing when I heard it (I then very likely would love any remix that features the dance riff of all dance riffs and Maxi Jazz's voice). Thus, I feel that, producing a "Greatest hits" album, they could have seized the opportunity to provide us with the first edit of the tune that aired on the radio, before taking the world's clubs by storm...

So, final word: this is a truly great sample of what Faithless do best - just not featuring what I personally consider as the "real" version of 'Insomnia'.
