- what does Captiva mean?
question: how can you make an album to top Dawn Escapes? "its not possable!" wrong. the first time I listened to Captive, I wasn't sure what to think. the second time, I loved it. its much quieter then the previous 3, but thats expected, given that there's two less members to the band. my personal favorite song is "How They Made Cameras" it sounds more like Dawn Escapes. the guitar on "Hotel Aquarium" is awsome, and the vocals on "The Dark Side of Indoor Track Meets" are INCREDIBLE. at first, I wasn't too sure about "Goodnight Gravity" as it honestly reminded me of some thing Reliant K would come out whith. but after a few listens, it grew on me. all in all, the album is full of beautiful lyrics, spot on vocals, electronic awsome-ness (complaments to Exit Lights)and melodic piano. once again Falling Up proves themselves as one of the greatest bands to ever bless the ears of the world. ever.

- Falling Up on the way up.
I was going to write this long captivating review, but I review books. This album rocks, go buy it and enjoy!!!
- A true masterpiece!
This album is truly amazing and is what I would call a masterpiece. I have two other albums by Falling Up and they are great, but this one is exceptional. I have quite a collection of music and this is definitely one of my all time favorites and there isn't a "bad song" on the album. Now my musical taste is one thing, but whenever I play this in my car or have it playing at work, I get asked immediately questions about it like "who is this playing?" and "where did you get it?". I think that says it all.
This band (and lead singer, Jessy Ribordy) is truly underrated. I wish I could give an extra star, but there was a limit! Thanks so much for making great music!
- Excellent album
This album is very artistic, with good messages inside. I love the mixing of the ethereal instrumentalism with the down to earth messages.
- Coming to Maturity
This is one of my favorite Falling Up albums. It is excellent. Their earlier works (Crashings and Dawn Escapes) seemed a little sloppy to me. There wasn't much of a distinct sound nor structure. Captiva starts taking a different turn and shows a lot of maturity from the band. The songs have great hooks yet provide enough depth that they hold your attention for many listens. The first two songs are the best and hard to stop listening to. The album slumps slightly for a couple of songs in the middle but picks up for a strong finish. I highly recommend buying this album.
