Flyleaf Album: “Flyleaf [Limited]”

Flyleaf Album: “Flyleaf [Limited]”
Description :
A buzz began to circulate over Belton, Texas, quartet Flyleaf when the band's debut EP first made the rounds. Fronted by singer Lacey Mosley, the band generates an enormous sound that draws on elements of nu-metal, screamo, and alternative rock, with Mosley's sometimes ferocious/sometimes sweet vocals lending the group a distinctive edge. Expectation ran high for the band's first long-player, but, luckily, Flyleaf's self-titled debut full-length doesn't disappoint. Leading off with the album's first single, "I'm So Sick," the album states its business and continues from there. There are hooks and melodic elements woven skillfully into the thrash, ensuring that Flyleaf's songs won't fade away as easily as many by their alt-metal contemporaries. But don't let Mosley's sometimes charming voice lull you: she can scream like a banshee, and the band hits with as much muscle as anyone on the scene. Fans of the genre are encouraged to check this out.

- Special Edition CD/DVD

After picking this CD up and actually viewing it, you actually get a view of what this band is about. Through the high quality DVD performances of Red Sam, Cassie and All Around Me, you can see the passion in what Flyleaf does. All of the extra features are awesome, but the performances stand out as the best perk of buying this album again.

For anyone looking for more of a look into what the band is about through performances, this is the way to go. It's definitely worth the price.

- Best new band I've picked up in quite some time.

Even though I'm an Agnostic, Flyleaf has become one of my favorite bands. They rock hard-core like nobody's business, and while they fully express their belief in God, they don't try to shove it down your throat. I bet even Athiests would enjoy these guys!

- Fully Alive

Even though I am not a Christian, Flyleaf is one of my favorite bands. I first heard them when the "I'm So Sick" video came out and I was instantly intrigued. Don't be deceived by their popularity or comparison to bands like Paramore (not insulting paramore). They have a one-of-a-kind passion.

I really hope they don't lose their screaming in the next CD :-)

Favorite track: 'I'm So Sick' or 'Breathe Today'

Least Favorite: 'Perfect' or 'So I Thought'

- Absolute inspiration!

I don't think I have taken it out of my cd player since I got it. The sound is riveting and full of emotion. You can hear their testimony through each song and even on the more darker songs they always melodically speak of a hope and a strong belief in how God can heal you through the pain. The songs are real and raw. Highly recommend.
