Franz Ferdinand will headline the Heineken Open’er main stage on Friday July 6 2012. They join the previously announced Björk , The xx and Justice as headliners at the abanoned air base in Gdynia.

Another artist has gone on to create a music video for their Franz Ferdinand cover, featured on the band's Covers EP. Stephin Merritt, lead singer of the prominent Magnetic Fields, has created a unique piece for "Dream Again", which casts a bunch of electronic items singing along to the lyrics.

During this year's Record Store Day , Franz Ferdinand released the Covers EP, featuring bands covering songs from their 2009 LP Tonight . One of those groups, LCD Soundsystem , took on album cut "Live Alone".
