Often touted as heirs to the throne vacated by late-1980s/early-'90s metal royalty, Godsmack came up in Salem, Massachusetts with a sound that captured the technical heaviness of Metallica and the moody dynamics of Alice In Chains. GOOD TIMES, BAD TIMES is a fitting retrospective of the band's recorded works, including all of Godsmack's highly successful singles, which propelled the group to the top of the nu-metal heap. This package includes a previously unreleased Led Zeppelin cover (hence the set's title), as well as a companion DVD disc featuring a live unplugged-style performance.

- Solid compilation for new and old fans alike
Has it really been ten years since Godsmack first started to get noticed in the hard rock scene? Wow, I feel old. Anyway, "Good Times, Bad Times: 10 Years of Godsmack" collects all of Godsmack's singles and hits; along with a newly recorded cover of Led Zeppelin's "Good Times, Bad Times". For those who have already picked up Godsmack's albums, there's not really any reason to pick up this compilation besides said cover (which is actually pretty good and surprisingly faithful to Led Zep's original classic) track and a bonus DVD of the band performing at the House of Blues, which is worth the price of admission alone. In that regard, "Good Times, Bad Times: 10 Years of Godsmack" is also well suited for casual fans of the band, as it features "Whatever", "Keep Away", "Voodoo", "Awake", "I Stand Alone", "Straight Out of Line", and the great acoustic tracks "Running Blind" and "Touche". While it would have been nice to see some other tracks on here (like the brilliant instrumental "Vampires"), "Good Times, Bad Times: 10 Years of Godsmack" is a more than solid compilation that fans of the band, new and old alike, won't find much disappointment in.

- All the hits...A great value
A collection of great power rock. All of the hits are here (my favs are Voodoo, I Stand Alone, & Awake). The price was pretty low and this was a great value, with little filler.

- Almost Complete
This is a great compilation, for sure. However, I would have loved to have had their cover of Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf" on here too. Maybe it was a legal thing, but an oversight none the less.

- Godsmack---Good Times, Bad Times (Best of Godsmack)
This is a great CD. If you like hard rock, "classic-style hard rock", or are a person trying to learn rock-n-roll musicianship, this is a good CD to buy. I've listened to all of the songs on this CD many times, and not only like the songs, but feel that the songs are well thought out, well written and well played. There are a lot of CD's that I've listened to in the past where there is either one song or multiple songs that I don't like on a particular CD, (remember buying a CD for the three hit songs, and not liking the other seven songs?), but I like all of the songs on Godsmack--Ten Years of Godsmack. There are some very fast moving, hard songs, along with some more laid-back introspective songs that complement each other.
Well done, Godsmack. I look forward to hearing more from you guys. Rock On!!
