- Another winner from Goldfrapp
Why does Goldfrapp remain one of music's hidden treasures? Yes, they have received some good notices but ask a number of people if they have heard of Goldfrapp, and I guarantee you will get many people asking "Who's that?"
Which is too bad because Goldfrapp continues to be one of music's most interesting acts. Their last two albums "Black Cherry" and "Supernature" feature seductive electro-pop songs that range from upbeat to moody. It's hard to pigeonhole them yet they have a distinct sound.
"We Are Glitter" is a compilation of remixes of songs from their past two albums, with an emphasis on their most recent, "Supernature". Remix albums are usually a mixed bag; often you can only find a good mix amongst overlong and indulgent mixes. But "We Are Glitter" actually works as an album. The remixes are top-notch, and can be distinguished from each other.
What I also like about this album is that Goldfrapp doesn't pander to club culture. Yes, some of the songs make you want to dance, but the remixes are more concerned with establishing mood and atmosphere rather than increasing the beat for house/circuit mixes. The best mixes are "Lovely 2 C U", the "Ride a White Horse" mixes and "Number 1".
Goldfrapp could release another volume of mixes because there are many other mixes out there of their work ready to be compiled.
I predict this compilation will be a success with Goldfrapp's fans but unfortunately I think Goldfrapp will remain music's best-kept secret.
Check out "We Are Glitter".

- Great Remixes By A Great Group!
Highlights: Lovely 2 C U (T.Raumschmiere Remix), Ooh La La (Benny Benassi Remix Extended), You Never Know (Múm Remix), Number 1 (Alan Braxe & Fred Falke Main Remix), Number 1 (Múm Remix), Strict Machine (We Are Glitter Mix)
Although they're all very good! Another genius album by Goldfrapp.

- A mordern Goldfrapp
This cd contains 12 pieces of music that have been remixed : 11 from the cd Supernature and one from Black Cherry. If you like Supernature, you may like this one more, or like it less than the original, but for shure this is not the kind of music Goldfrapp issued in the previous cds -A lot more electronic and dance music. Personnaly, I prefer the first album (Felt Mountain) and the last one (2008 : 7th tree) which contain beautifull and profoundly original compositions, including relaxing ones.

- Extraordinary.
This was certainly a surprising album. "Supernature" was spectacular; "We Are Glitter" is a diffrent breed: it is overly-spectacular. Oh, rather. The album has its faults, as one should expect from a remix-CD, but the others are incomparable and seem to surpass the originals in many respects. 'Satin Chic' (#1) is wonderful; a great intro to the album. 'Lovely 2 C U' is energy put into audio waves. 'You Never Know' is dreamy, but manages to be at one with the other tracks. The remixes to 'Number 1' and 'Ride a White Horse' are electronic bliss like their originals (but more upbeat). 'Strict Machine' is an auditory jewel - perhaps the absolute highlight of the CD: reason enough to buy the album. Already awaiting Goldfrapps next CD and hopeful of another remix to the likes of this one...
- Goldfrapp is an ElctroPop/ElectroClash Goldmine!
Came across Goldfrapp when seeking simialr artist to Ladyhawke, Peaches, Miss Kitten, and FischerSpooner.
So glad I found it. Have bought Black Cherry first and thought it was great. Went back and bought Head First and thought that was even better, and then bought Supernature and thought that was really good too.
So I did not have to give it much thought in buying Glitter as I have not heard anything from Goldfrapp that I do not like.
It is great music while working or at the gym. Not sure how the science of this music gets me, as I am not a pop-dance kind of guy. I like fast, thick beats and would not normally give something so frilly looking and for lack of better word "girlie" kind of look and feel. But when I listen to it, the beat, the synths, her melodic voice and how it all comes together is much more than the parts themselves. I am very impressed with this music.
