Disco de Good Charlotte: “Good Charlotte: The Greatest Remixes [PA]”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Good Charlotte will never be accused of being too funky on their studio albums, but they show an admirable willingness to shake things up on their new remix compilation, THE GREATEST REMIXES. At first glance, the platinum pop-punkers may not seem the ideal candidate for this sort of treatment, but their radio-friendly melodies lend themselves surprisingly well to a dancefloor makeover. Contributors range from red-hot new jacks like Steve Aoki (an urgent, staticky "Misery") and Ed Banger Records All Stars (a glitchy, cut-up "Girls & Boys") to battle-tested dance vets like New Jack Swing architect Teddy Riley (a version of "I Just Wanna Live" that splits the difference between retro and modern). Despite the variety of personnel, the results are fairly consistent and hold together nicely as an album.

- New Lows

This is terrible. Mixing your songs with synthesized beats to give it some hip hop/R&B feel when your a "punk" band is probably the worse thing you could ever do. None of the songs are remotely similar to the originals aside from the lyrics. Man talk about selling out from the whole DC punk image they tried to label themselves. Save your money. I did think it was funny that in the amazon "people who bought this also bought" section the Twilight Movie soundtrack was listed, which just goes to show the type of people that are still fans.

- Truly awful.

I LOVE Good Charlotte. I've been a huge fan since I first heard "The Young and the Hopeless" in 2003. I've listened to all of their albums (self-titled, TYATH, Chronicles, Good Morning Revival, and Cardiology) a zillion times and love them all... but "Greatest Remixes" is really pretty awful. Yeah I suppose it is pretty cool that they're doing something "different" or whatever- but wasn't "Good Morning Revival" different enough (at least from some of their earlier stuff)? GMR was good, and the songs featured on here are good, but these remixes are just horrible. Coming from someone who LOVES this band, I can't imagine why they made this album or who thought these remixes sounded good.

I do like "Anxiety", but if you ask me that's about the only listenable track on here (this is coming from a die-hard GC fan).

- Great remixes

I rate this item 4 out of 5 stars, simply for the fact that this album features remixes of Good Charlotte's previous songs and the remixes aren't done by the band. Nevertheless, that is also something that makes me grow respect for the band - they are not afraid at all to give their work out of hands. The remixes are very cool and divers and I think every artist that contributed to this album did a great job. Because of the diversity, their music become available to a larger crowd and more people might grow respect for the band and actually start seeing them as musicians and not another kind of boyband.

The album also features a new song, called 'Anxiety' which is just another great Good Charlotte song.

- The End

You know a band is at the end of its' life cycle when they are putting out a greatest hits package after only a handful of albums. This is a young band still, instead of making terrible remixes of some hit and not hit songs, they should be working on creating new music that will recapture the sound and sales of their first albums. This is not the way to go to get new fans.

- hey s. anderson.

i think it's great. especially los angeles worldwide b/c its a continuon of waldorf worldwide. the only wierd one on there is the little things remix by patrick stump. and good charlotte NEVER labeled themselves punk! ppl that still think this are extremely ignorant. i'm so sick of hearing that for years and years, just shut up!!in 2002 and 2003 they dressed sort of punky b/c they were trying to fit in. thery were trying to be cool. now they are being themselves and that is why they dress in wat they want to now, if u look at recent pics of them. stop dissing them. they aregreat people and a great band.
