Random Notes: Gym Class Heroes, Madonna and the Week in Rock Random Notes took a vacation last week, but it’s back with a vengeance today. Speaking of vengeance, Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy extracted some on a racist concert goer last week in St. Louis, which ended in his arrest and apologies all around. Joining McCoy was Amy Winehouse (who got back at a Budweiser box) and Gene Simmons (who took a stand against anybody who thought he didn’t know anything about prostutiion. Rewind: The Week in Rock Daily We rolled out more extras from our Obama-fronted issue, as artists discussed how they’ll lend their voices to the Presidential hopeful’s campaign. Will.i.am also talked to us about meeting Obama, we took a look at the best tunes inspired by the candidate and we posted the entire conversation featured in the current issue of the magazine. It was a violent week at Rock Daily, as Amy Winehouse kicked things off with a right hook into the Glastonbury crowd and Gym Class Heroes’ Travis McCoy delivered the knockout punch with a microphone-shattering assault on a racist fan. Live Nation continued their pursuit of music industry domination by preparing to roll out their own ticketing venture. The concert behemoth also recruited Shakira to join their army. We hit the road with the Warped Tour, watched Slash rock the Sunset Strip and went behind the scenes with Mötley Crüe as they prepare to embark on Crüe Fest. [Photo: Saul Loeb/AFP/Getty]
