Phish Tease Fans With Halloween Cover Options: Nirvana, MGMTPhoto: Phish.com It’s tradition for Phish to cover another artist’s classic album in its entirety on Halloween — and for fans to furiously debate which LP the band will choose in the weeks before the big show. This year, the Vermont quartet is playing along by teasing its devotees with a gallery of album covers on the official Festival 8 Website. Records that won’t be performed in Indio, California, at the end of the month are being figuratively killed off the band — stabbed with a knife or an a

In addition to a CD stocked full of tracks from the band’s earlier discography like 2004’s Almost Killed Me and 2006’s Boys & Girls In America, the package will also feature a DVD with a 53-minute documentary detailing the band’s voyage from their first-ever London concerts in 2006 to their return back to their native Minneapolis. As for the live album itself, the songs were performed on Halloween 2007 at a sold-out show at Chicago’s Metro. Springsteen Reportedly Readying New Album For JanuaryPhoto: Readle/Getty Having successfully completed his role on the campaign trail, Bruce Springsteen will reportedly go back to work on his next album, according to Backstreets. During his six-song concert in Cleveland, Springsteen debuted a new song entitled “Workin’ On a Dream.” The song is expected to appear on the follow-up to last year’s Magic and may be out in time for Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony in January 2009. Before helping out Obama, Springsteen had spent the autumn season prepping the new album. The winter months promise to be just as busy for Bruce, as he and his E Street Band will also rock the Super Bowl halftime show on February 1st. Snoop Teams Up With Beckham, Winehouse Appeals Marijuana Charge, Arcade Fire Get Bottled It’s not quite Dr. Dre, but Snoop Dogg has found a new Los Angelino to collaborate with: David Beckham. Snoop and Posh Spice’s hubby have formed an unusual bond (Beckham has even taught Dogg’s kids how to play soccer). The Doggfather says, “We’re talking about putting our money together to do a movie. It’s incredibly exciting. We both love fashion too, and we might even do a fashion label as well.” Amy Winehouse will appeal the marijuana-possession fine she paid after being arrested in Norway. Winehouse didn’t know that agreeing to pay a fine was equivalent to pleading guilty. The incident ultimately forced the singer to cancel her appearance at next week’s MTV’s Woodies. RS Breaking Artist the Black Lips will star in Let It Be, a movie loosely based on the story of alterna-gods the Replacements, as evidenced by the film’s title, which shares its name with an album by Paul Westerberg’s outfit. Repeat, this has nothing to do with the Beatles. The Arcade Fire have become the latest victim of the old British pastime of “bottle-hurling,” as Win Butler took one in the face during the band’s Halloween show in Nottingham. After a second bottle narrowly avoided hitting Butler, the AF singer declared the band would “never play Nottingham again.” Bling king Jacob the Jeweler will plead guilty to two counts of making false statements to investigators. Jacob also faced more severe money laundering charges, but those charges have been dropped thanks to the plea deal. He’s expected to serve roughly three to four and a half years in jail.
