- Where's 'Confetti Day'?

As everyone else has said this is an excellent album of music from a great band. But there's something missing.

I have this album on vinyl. There is a (quite good) song on the vinyl called "Confetti Day" which is conspicuous by its absence on this CD. I wonder what happened to it. Why would they drop this song from the CD?

Otherwise an excellent album. If you like this kind of music, then there is much to like here.

- HIT CHOCOLATE

HOT CHOCOLATE-VERY BEST OF HOT CHOCOALTE: Remembered today mainly for their biggest hit, the exuberant booty call YOU SEXY THING, England's racially mixed RNB outfit HOT CHOCOLATE actually produced a half dozen funk-infested dance inducers during the disco era (a tag they were above). ERROL BROWN's pleading vocal cascades and tortured screams fueled the doomed heroine ditty EMMA, while DISCO QUEEN and EVERY 1'S A WINNER pumped out irresistably fleshy bump 'n grind grooves. Almost as interesting as their own chartbusters were two group penned tracks that scored big for rock artists...YOU COULD HAVE BEEN A LADY was APRIL WINE's breakthrough and interracial love song BROTHER LOUIE sold a cool million in the hands of one hit wonders THE STORIES. While not held up today in the same light as American ensembles KOOL & THE GANG or EARTH, WIND & FIRE, HOT CHOCOLATE could deliver the goods, leaving behind this sturdy catalogue of cool soul party starters.

RATING: FOUR WHIPPED CREAMS

- Very hot chocolate

This is a good single disc overview of Hot Chocolate's best work. Errol Brown has an instantly recognizable voice and he and Tony Wilson wrote some great songs. They had considerable success in the UK, but less in the US, although 'You Sexy Thing' has become a cult classic, appearing in many different connections. Ironically, 'Brother Louie' was Brown and Wilson's biggest US hit, but not by the band itself; a cover version by the American group Stories reached number one.

This album is full of good songs. Besides the funky mid-tempo numbers with which Hot Chocolate is primarily associated, a particular favorite of mine is the ballad 'I'll Put You Together Again'. Brown's soulful rendition makes me wish he'd moved more in this direction, but I guess the market dictated otherwise.

If you want a representative album of 1970s British funk, you can't do better than this.

- Hot Choclate - Very Best - UK Edition - EMI

Sound is good but could be better.

Good selection.

Contain the ORIGINAL COMPLETE VERSION Of "Are You Getting Enough Hapiness?" (Time: 5:52), very hard to find in others compilation of Hot Chocolate, along with "It Started With The Kiss" both from the album "Mystery" (1982).

The version of "You Sexy Thing" is NOT the original 1977. It's a remix of Ben Liebrand 1987.

I bought it new, very cheap. Acceptable .

Attachment covers and info you will find with the images of the product page.
